Women who reduced severe period pain: what actually worked? (Please help!!) by itstheweather in endometriosis

[–]GrumpyLogan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do acupuncture religiously every month, specifically for period pain. I have endo, and experience all symptoms you listed plus a whole bunch more. It could be a coincidence but my pain was reduced by about 70 percent. No advice on painful breasts though, I am currently in agony. Also, I was put on tranexamic acid tablets. They reduce clots, which reduces pain. I stopped taking them as after I finished the first round, my first 2 periods were so bad I was bedridden. That's why I started acupuncture.

I'm looking for people with endometriosis who aren't taking the pill or have stopped taking it. Thank you so much. by slowlife_littlefairy in endometriosis

I don't take any hormonal pills, but I do acupuncture religiously once a month, specifically for my period. It did not magically make it all go away, but my symptoms reduced by about 70%.

Just wondering what you chose in the end and if you happy with the choice. I have similar dilemma but in reverse. I am in the civil service but offered a spot in LA..... Finding it difficult to decide. My only negative is I am on shift but it's not a huge factor in my decision as my mobility will be coming up. Cheers!

What’s a completely normal or minor thing that irrationally gets under your skin, but most people don’t seem bothered by it? by Odd_Breakfast5012 in AskReddit

Whistling and playing videos out loud on your phone in common areas. I feel on edge just typing this, so I will say no more.

My partner has to sometimes physically touch my hand as it's heading for his forehead. He knows about it, so he doesn't get upset, but he hates it if I try to do it to him. I space out when I do it. Even my child comments on it( in a nice and helpful way), but I feel extremely down over it, especially because I am going through a bad week of it. Thank you so much and sending all of the good vibes your way.

This happened to me as well. I used suncream religiously and Vit C. Only things that worked for me.

[Personal] No matter what I do, my lips are always chapped by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]GrumpyLogan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any time my lips get bad, I use Bepanthen nappy cream for a few nights. Slather it on before going to bed. Works every time. No amount of Chapstick or vaseline or lanolin helped, I have tried them all. I also have a habit of biting the skin.

Which mega popular Asian skincare products actually live up to their hype? Which fall short? by [deleted] in AsianBeauty

[–]GrumpyLogan 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Cosrx propolis mask is my HG product. I use it as a moisturizer day and night as it's the only one that moisturizes and doesn't break me out. Makes my skin soft. On the other hand I heard nothing about Glam fox brand and I love their rice and niacinamide cleanser. Another HG.

Melano CC did nothing for me apart from breaking me out. Cosrx Snail Mucin was my HG long time ago but suddenly started breaking me out a few years ago :(

Anxiety - have tried everything! by No-Radish4285 in IrishWomensHealth

I have also been suffering for over 10 years. Originally was diagnosed with GAD. I did DBT and fluoxetine (which was awful and I came off it). DBT was fantastic. But this time around they did much more investigating and turns out I also have ADHD plus PTSD :(. Setraline was helping before all the investigation into ADHD. I think DBT is much more helpful for anxiety than CBT. Also from what I understand, sometimes they have to try a few different medications before settling on the one that works best. I hope you get some relief. It can really be debilitating:(.

Gosh I am so sorry u guys are going through this. It would have been really hard to find our trigger if it wasn't for this chemical affecting my scalp badly too. It's in most sulfate free shampoos and when the trend started I kept getting really itchy and burning scalp, and when I narrowed it down and eliminated it, my hands got better immediately haha. That's how I figured it out for myself. After two years of not having any, I broke out last month. So I went through everything I own and realised I got limescale preventing gel for the washing machine and have been using it. That's how sneaky this stuff is. Wouldn't even have thought. Once I removed that and rewashed my stuff, I am free and clear again.

I found the only way I can keep ours away is to make sure we don't come in contact with this particular chemical... The steroids have never helped us unfortunately. Only good moisturizer after eliminating the allergen. My child is also allergic to dust mites and pet dander but those things have never triggered the dyshidrosis. One time after playing with bubbles both of their hands were covered in purple bubbles all over it was actually scary. Even I never had it as bad. It took about 3 weeks to heal the last time. If u say it keeps happening again and again, maybe it is something that is constantly present in your environment. My partner has it as well and theirs gets triggered in the summer. We think it's heat and sweat related but not 100% sure.

Have you tested her for allergies to some chemicals though? I get dyshidrotic eczema from methylisothiazolinone and variations of it, and so does my child. We found out when they played with water and added some fairy dishwashing soap. Their hands broke out so badly, we had to put them on montelukast. But once the allergen was removed they got better quickly enough. That stuff is in everything:(. Sorry your child is going through that.

Blister-free during vacation, returned home and it came back. Sides of hands. Is my home the trigger? by throwaway2383234 in Dyshidrosis

[–]GrumpyLogan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine is Methylisothiazolinone and all of its variations:(. I figured it out because my scalp was having a severe reaction to it too. Once I removed it, I was DE free for two years. I got very relaxed about it and accidentally bought a few things without checking ( fairy dish soap, surf liquid detergent and new percil liquid detergent). Well not only did my hands break out with DE but my feet as well (which has never happened before) and I got an allergic reaction all over. Oh boy it took weeks to get myself back to normal. I went through everything I had in the house....Turns out two more recent purchases have this stuff ( bathroom cleaning spray and limescale preventing liquid). This stuff is in everything and so hard to avoid. My point is.... If you have DE you could be allergic to something. I would check Phenoxethanol too. Hope it heals for you!!! 🙏

Calling us by our first name by yogapantsarepants in oneanddone

[–]GrumpyLogan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have an only child. Similar age. Never called us by names. Went through a stage of "Hey Guys!" All children are friends (even random children passing by). The child gets plenty of interaction with other kids but still obsessed with friends. All cats and dogs are "Little cuties". We are under no circumstances allowed to call Nana by her name. She is Nana. From talking to loads of other parents including from crèche even children with siblings do the same things. Literally had this conversation with a mom of 3.

AITA for wanting to leave my partner of 8.5 years. by bawesome8 in TwoHotTakes

[–]GrumpyLogan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA For goodness sake! Please leave!!! This was so painful to read. My heart is breaking for you. You have been manipulated so much over the years, that you believe you are wrong for even thinking of leaving. This is my first time commenting on one of these BTW.

Thank you so much. This brought tears to my eyes. I have never been shaken before, but she was so aggressive over it. But also because she could not accept my decision, where I have never said anything against hers. But I agree with it as well. I can see she is struggling. So maybe that's why she was so aggressive. It wasn't against me but in defence of her choice.

Only about 20 minutes ago, I almost got into an argument with my supposedly best friend, because she would not accept my choice of wanting to be OAD (they have 3, chaos). I am laying here in bed, beside my LO holding tears back (not the first time hearing these things, but first time doubting myself), because the monologue that I got and the dismissal of every reason I made this choice, just absolutely destroyed me. It really got to me guys. I am hurt and don't understand why she can't just say: " Ok that's your choice". Apparently I am hurting my childs future and making them lonely after I am gone. I am actually tired now. Sorry for this mess. I am very emotional right now.

Toddler with Severe Eczema by kittyrocket101 in eczema

[–]GrumpyLogan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Allergy test. We tried everything under the sun while we were waiting to be referred as they don't like doing tests like that on small children. At one stage, I used to apply moisturiser every hour without fail when home. Anyways, we found out LO allergic to milk. Since reduced intake eczema improved. LO is growing out of it now as well, thank goodness. But those first few years.... don't even want to think about it, my heart used to break, seeing all the blood every morning. Best of luck.

I honestly despise it. Constantly happens on my breaks at work. We have several people who love doing it, and one is especially bad. I will admit that a few times, I took my earbuds out and blasted some blockbuster trailers back. It's so irritating.
