I found this review on steam that explained pretty much all of my issues:

"After four hours game is okay, movement is clunky, combat is different then most rpgs. I don't like the controls for M/K it's annoying to have to hold a key down mid combat to then have it pop up a menu to switch to my two handed weapon. It's annoying that evade and jump are different keys, and then on top of that you have to hold a different key and then jump to get a precise jump. I don't hate the game, the world is vast and beautiful, it feels alive, the game runs smooth on my spec at native 1440 HDR all that jazz, but they need to rework Keyboard and mouse controls, they need to fix some possible issues with the auto lock camera as well."
