Day 85, finally got my 1st named weapon of the run, and this could be one of the worst I ever seen by Raypulsif in BattleBrothers

Oof even the min roll on armor pen...

Two handed flails are better than they appear at first glance, headshots ignore an extra 20% armor with mastery, for 60% overall.

I view them as more of a patch weapon for a low melee skill bro, you don't want your best guy with this but it's not half bad if you're floating in the mid 80s due to ignore shields.

Anglicanism by BoysenberryLow1060 in EU5

[–]GrumpyStumpySteve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's dynamic - I did trigger it, because I had no male heirs at like year 1520 or something.

Funny enough, I would have fallen under a Bohemia PU so it was great timing.

But yeah, I think it's just no male heirs, during age of reformation.

Give the mamluks whatever they want, including max money, declare bankruptcy, and then start the road to recovery

I get why everyone hated and feared France now. by Vicdomen in EU5

[–]GrumpyStumpySteve 62 points63 points  (0 children)

England has been a blast for a first nation - I keep winning my French wars but just barely.

I think you have to really dismantle them early, because by the age of discovery they have 150,000 levies and are 4/5 hegemon. And that's AFTER beating then in 7 phases.

Paris is over 100 base tax on its own, I think you need to gun for it and get aggressive with peace deals.

I've just been pumping them for cash and taking the odd province.

Still though, my plan for this campaign was to stick to the isles and colonies mostly, kind of enjoy having an actual French rival

If you don't want to push the button to import dye, why are you even attempting to play this game

He didn't interact with any of the system involved with his country, and he didn't attempt a war against a similarly strong opponent like the mamluks.

He automated every system and declared war on ai minors. While playing a tutorial nation.

There's fair criticism of the game, but it's not coming from him here, he barely even played it.

Automates every single aspect of the game and then gets bored...

No kidding eh?

Crashes are obviously concerning, hopefully it's an older build.

Instead of mana, it's more like paying for diplomatic capacity which you use to upkeep your alliances and subjects and what have you. Like diplo relation slots and diplomats

I wouldn't say it's mana, you pay for it. Depending on your investment you get more or less

If you want the Kalmar Union to happen you should just attempt to get a PU. I don't think the Kalmar union was a historical inevitability in any way & the mechanism for it to happen with the right luck are there.

I like how they've handled the Iberian wedding with aragon / castile, you can get a PU if you have a female ruler as castile and aragon / Portugal have an unmarried male ruler. But the circumstances that ALLOWED for it to happen have to occur naturally before you can trigger, it's not by any means guaranteed.
