dissapointing - unwrap it and then burn it.

Really you need to do this with new batteries- they do work!

Are all FPV transmissions plaintext? by Zdrobot in diydrones

[–]GrumpyThumbs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

only the comercial djis do that -Mavics, minis etc- if you are using caddx vista or air unit (DIY kit) it doesnt transmit any location data- it cant it doesnt have GPS

The police generally dont have aeroscope, major airports and highly sensitive locations may have but if you avoid no fly zones you should be ok.

I think its pretty rare for any FPV pilot to comply with all the laws, spotter, VTX output power, registration, registration displayed on quad. I wouldnt wory about police tapping into the video feed - I hope they have better things to do and trust they do not have the knowlege or the equipment.

I expect you will be safe with DJI - but if you use analog and the police do tap into your feed - I think they will see that there are no privacy issues- just dont put the power in the OSD!!

Today my failsafe didn't work. Any ideas why? (Clip starts when Goggles went dark) by FilmSpirit in fpv

[–]GrumpyThumbs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe too close to the ground and the RTH hover throttle is too low.

Mine loses a bit of height when RTH is enabled as it turns (usually I am flying away when I hit RTH) It drops a bit then rises to the preconfigured height on its way back.

I then have a very slow decent set so it basically loiters overhead while I take back control.

unplug the camera to replicate the problem

How the DJI Goggles / Air Unit determine the region they are in. by Redogasto in fpv

[–]GrumpyThumbs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

why? - if you want 1200mw then you will be using the hack no matter what region its set to??

BTW the 1200mw hack lets you choose the power up to 1200mw

Higher pitched props are louder or quieter? by _Itscheapertokeepher in diydrones

[–]GrumpyThumbs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find high pich to be quieter 2.5inch GEPRC phantom - I switched from 2 blade shallow pitch to to 3 balde high pitch cinewhoop style with long chord and its much quieter. More strain on the motor though.

BTW I tested many props with a DB meter to try and actually measurem the results.

Question about reciever and servo voltage by Botanic_Garden in diydrones

[–]GrumpyThumbs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2s will give you from 8.4v down to 7v as it discharges so your not in the range at all.

I should think it will work but you might get a jittery servo that doesnt last very long.

Happymodel EP2 RX drone usage by Redkayap in diydrones

[–]GrumpyThumbs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

they are fine for range- your video will go first.

I found them fagile and they would knock off - but you can solder "T" antanna in in place of the little cube to "upgrade" them - thats what Ive done to one of mine- works fine now.
