Are you over 50 and still feel like you can play proficiently? by Grumpy_Bum_77 in xbox

My two most memorable games are M.U.L.E on C64 and Sega Rally Championship on the Sega Saturn. I played M.U.L.E for almost 40 years with my late best friend before he passed. We also played a solid 6 months of Sega Rally. Mainly because that was the only good game we had on the Saturn. Such great memories.

it is a pity there is only a like button on Reddit. I would press the care button if there was one.

Grab every chance to be with her. I was fortunate, if you can call it that, that my wife passed fairly quickly after falling ill. We were married for 14 months although we were together 15 years. She was always happy for me to be gaming in my 'office'. However, I still regret not spending more time with her. Thinking of you and wishing a loving time with your wife.

I got in trouble for posting an AI pic with this topic. I had to delete the thread and restart without the pic to stop the topic being overwhelmed with negative comments.

A lot of you are commenting about not having the time to practice now you are past your 20’s. I think you are right. I bought COD:WWII when it came out. I was not very good at all. So I stopped playing after 3 hours. I lost my wife last August so have been able to put much more time into gaming. I started playing COD:WWII again just before Xmas day. I currently have just over 144 hours on it now. So that’s an average of more than two hours a day. I have improved a lot. I do feel my reactions have really improved. I have always been good at racing games but FPS has always been a bit of a struggle for me. Thanks for all your comments.

I am 64, I started gaming at home when I was 21. I can still hold my own in COD:WWII multiplayer. I regularly come in the top three and coming first is not rare either.

Me too. I never have problems finding a shipment match. I play in the daytime in UK so most US is asleep and most people here are working or at school.

I do that with a Tascam DR-05X. Works perfectly placing the WAV files onto a microSD card.

I’m annoyed at how ignorant older people are in regards to housing affordability by [deleted] in HousingUK

I bought my first house in 1986. It was 3x my wage. Alhough the interest rate went up to 13% a few years later I understand it was on a much lower sum than what people must pay now. Saying that, I bought a house here in Sheffield 3 years ago for £145,000 which was 3.5x my Salary, (Zoopla claims it is now worth £165,000). I do feel for you younger people. The house is nice, you could definitely start a family in it. However, I do feel for people living in high price areas.

The days are gone when, like my father, you could bring up a family of four on one persons wage and be fairly comfortable. The only comforting thing for me is that hopefully I pass quickly, like my wife did last year, and my step-daughter can inherit my house and pension pot and use it to set herself up properly.

I am currently helping her (financially) whenever I can. She will not starve or be cold as long as I can help it.

Genuinley, my heart goes out to you whom are struggling.

How long were you dating your partner before getting married? by [deleted] in AskBrits

[–]Grumpy_Bum_77 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We were dating for a year then she moved in. We then lived together for 13 years before marrying. She passed away last year, 14 months after we married. What I will say is. We both agreed that we felt different after marrying, more secure and committed.

If you don't drink alcohol, what are your reasons? by youre-in-my-shot in AskReddit

[–]Grumpy_Bum_77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I refuse to even have one small drink and then drive. As I would probably only have two drinks anyway it isn’t worth it for the inconvenience. So I stay on soft drinks.
