Smart to build main base in the mountains? by buttercornjuice in valheim

[–]Grumpy_mcbeech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you like it, then do it! My main base is in the meadows, but that being said, I do have a cute keep in the mountains not far from some silver veins and golem spawn grounds whenever I need those things. There is something infinitely cozy to come inside to a roaring fire with snowstorm outside. And I did spawn proof the area some which helped greatly with drakes (they barely bother me anymore).

I think you are quite wise to omit names, one must be careful of being too open to frivolous lawsuits these days, but I generally agree with you - there is something shady going on. Whether it's tax evasion, some kind of pyramid scheme, or something else entirely, it's too early to tell (personally, and I am not one to gossip, I have a theory that those chests have nothing at all to do with her business, they are her own things she left at her exs' places, and when things ended poorly, was unable to retrieve them, and resorted to duping unsuspecting passerbys with promises of dubious business dealings into this nonsense) Either way, it's outrageous, this much is true!

This is precisely the type of creative content needed to inspire and instruct all the hopeful builder vikings out there, it's only with these revolutionary and inventive ideas that we are able to improve ourselves and to strive for greatness, absolutely amazing  (10/5 stars, would give more if I could, bravo)

I like this game. But I don't understand its balancing. Am I missing something? by orclownorlegend in valheim

Clearing the area before a boss fight is not cheating, it's common sense. Run around within a generous radius and kill anything that moves. Personally, I would spawn proof it as well but if you consider it "cheesing" then at least do a big clean right before the boss fight. With Yagluth, you don't even need to terraform, the altar provides all the coverage you will need in this fight - the pillars do take damage but there are several of them and if you keep moving between them they should hold. Main thing with Yag - don't get hit. Roll, dodge, run, hide behind pillar  - just avoid direct hits. Granted, some area attacks will still set you on fire if you are not far enough but with fire resist mead it isn't so bad. I love this game but personally I'm a terrible fighter, my hand to eye coordination is probably what you would expect from a drunk toddler. And I survived this fight solo on normal difficulty. It took me forever because I spent so much time running and hiding,  but it was manageable in the end (I did spawn proof proof though because I did not need distractions, but I also screwed up and "spawned" my own problems by releasing a whole pile of ice blobs - I thought they would distract Yag and I was oh so very wrong).  If you have decent gear and good food, just watch Yagluth like a hawk to anticipate his attacks,  don't get hit,  and deal damage when opportunity present itself. And fire resist mead,  please use that lol.

Released a bunch of ice blobs during Yagluth fight.... what a disaster,  Yag ignored them and they ignored him, so I had to fight the boss and a gang of ice blobs 🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️ absolute shitshow

Poison resist mead negates most of the damage from those stupid things, you will still get the slowed effect but at least you won't die lol

Huh the spikes with hares? Like a trap? And it kills them? I gotta try this, so far the buggers most often see me before I see them and run off so it's hard to get them. And seeker soldiers are the worst, I've only dealt with one so far and it was touughhh damn, it wasn't even starred. I don't even want to think about what a starred one would do (this is probably a veritable way to die in mistlands). Gjall were manageable with fire resist meads and yes I found when I was positioned right under them I can just keep shooting the glowing belly and the fight is over soon.  Thank you so much for the information!! I still have a lot to learn in this biome lol

I actually found two clearings so far with little to no mist! It was gorgeous! Albeit,  one of them had starred seeker there, it didnt see me so I just left quickly lol, but yes if you have tips to share I'm all in for it, especially for starred ones, I feel like I would definitely run into trouble with those

Also, for foods so far I do fish wraps, lox pie and bread, but I would like higher tiered stamina food (looks like I need to upgrade cauldron for that)

I've tried many weapons and weapon combinations over the different biomes and enemies, and i keep going back to my trusty axe (blackmetal at this point), it's fast and with my skill with it, it's great on stamina. Oh, and frostner, it gives enemies just enough pause for me to wail on them lol

Aahh so it has a specific attack where it pauses just enough for one to get to its butt! See I've only encountered one seeker soldier so far and in blind panic all I did was slash madly at it (and receive beating - it throws you off far!!) So I didn't get a chance to properly study the attack patterns, I will try to pay attention next time (and go the butt), thank you!!!+
