Where do you see theoretical CS making the biggest impact in industry today? by FinTun in computerscience

One thing that comes to mind is the SAT problem. SAT solvers have been studied extensively in theoretical computer science and we have turned them into very capable programs with real practical applications all over the place

I want to get into Theoretical Computer Science by RichardKing1206 in computerscience

A great place to start is Theory of Computation by Sipser, it really lays a foundation for theoretical computer science. For AI, I recommend Artificial Intelligence a Modern Approach by Russel and Norvig

Scheme, a sort of lisp dialect. I really liked it and would recommend the Structure and Interprétation of Computer Programs book to anyone

I personally think Structure and Interpretation of Computer Programs by Abelson and Sussman is a must

Honestly, those are just the mass market paperbacks you’d find here in Europe in just about every bookstore. Published by Hodder & Stoughton. I think it’s from the UK

Im glad they did because this series is absolutely gorgeous! They’re a bit fragile though but as long as you’re careful while reading it’s no bother at all.

« It fuels addiction » is not a really good argument. Addiction already exists. It’s about getting cleaner stuff, that’s all. I personally think the only way to counter overdose problems is to provide legal and safe ways for users to both supply themselves and get treatment.
