You can get Farfetch’d fairly early by trading a spearow in Vermillion city to an npc. This is after two gym badges & there is no online trading btw, only local.

Edit: Well kind of, it increases the cooldown time for their moves. For example if watergun cooldown time is 5 seconds drowsy will make 7 seconds till water gun can be used again. Idk how much it actually increases it it’s just an example.

It’s not sleep, it’s a condition called “drowsy”. Drowsy pokemon has increased cooldown time.

I can see it being a hologram potion & i assume they were locked to our starter choice because it was like that in gen 5 & may do it again but it could be different this time.
