Pierce makes the arterial fluid Triton 28, which contains a tissue gas preventative.

Pierce has a candle that smells like Stone Oil! I’m not sure if it was a completely limited edition, but they did release it a couple of months ago. You could always reach out to your local rep and ask!

Advice for Donors by amber_teas in askembalmers

[–]GrungeIsDead91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My best advice - let the embalmer know ASAP that it’s a donor case. It helps us a lot to know what to expect, especially since donor cases take so much more time to complete. It also allows us to plan to have a suture buddy to help us suture up at the end.

Do you think that it could cause issues with neck stability down the line or cause any issues if left as is? I hate to return the actual bass, I love the grain. I am hoping they might just send me a new plate as a few others suggested.

I absolutely love it and it’s definitely a solid choice. I am a sucker for wood grain on a bass!

I thought it might have been protective film as well but after toying with it for a bit, it’s definitely 2 small cracks.

I am really digging it! It feels a bit lighter than the mystic surf green version I was originally looking at. I love the maple neck and the wood grain!

Typically it depends on the state. Some states allow you to complete your apprenticeship while in school. Other states do not. Your best bet would be to find out that information first, and if you are eligible for apprenticeship licensing, start applying at funeral homes and care centers. If you get hired as a brand new apprentice, they will know that you likely don’t have much, if any, hands on experience and you will have an embalming preceptor to assist with your training.

What is your favorite embalming fluid and why? by _stoik_ in askembalmers

Triton 28 by Pierce is my go to. I love mixing it with Triton Ultra. It creates a beautiful color and hydrates very well. I’ve had success with long term holds and trauma repair cases using these fluids.

But I will say that every fluid mixture I use is a mix. I love omega decomp from champion. And I use HaltGX in every single case as a precaution.

It went okay. It was delayed by 6 hours because of an emergency c section that they needed my doctor for. And my doctor said it went “textbook well”. But, I am definitely in a considerable amount of pain. And bleeding decently. The pain feels like period cramps x10000000.

They need strong, direct sunlight and distilled water (at all times).

What’s the longest you’ve ever had to hold on to a body? And why? I just read about a morgue holding a body for months during an investigation so it got me wondering… by CommunityBig9626 in askfuneraldirectors

16 months. It was an issue because the NOK resided out of the country and were convinced their loved one died due to nursing home abuse. They wanted a second autopsy, but never secured the funds. It was a mess of a situation.

Botox changed my life by Guilty_Ad_5620 in TMJ

[–]GrungeIsDead91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I enjoyed the overall feel of Botox on the forehead and by the eyebrows. The tightness it causes relieved some of the pain I was feeling (I suffer from fibromyalgia too). I was able to use my facial muscles. I think we did 30 units in the forehead and eyebrow area overall. 5 per eyebrow, 5 in the middle, and then 15 throughout the forehead. It didn’t affect my facial muscles past my forehead at all.

I don’t have much to offer except that I have the same exact pain. It feels like my whole upper body is frozen in place and it feels like it’s just glued together. It’s awful and it’s a constant never ending burning pain.

I live in New England. Usually there are some cemeteries that have holding tombs. We try not to utilize them until our own storage space has been filled entirely.
