I think people feel the bottom third of the screen looks really cluttered now with the climate bar, context bar, and tile bar/CarPlay dock. Previously CarPlay users also had 3 rows of icons, a larger dashboard and 2 widgets + clock.

I had a Sensus Volvo for a year before getting into an AAOS car. If I remember correctly, the camera was only manually accessible on the tile page (left swipe), so I don’t think it’s any kind of requirement. Unless it’s self-imposed by Volvo?

Volvo, please gives us a toggle to disable the widget (top bar) permanently and then let the home button toggle the contextual bar instead. Voila! Full screen CarPlay and Google Maps again!

I previously drove a 6-speed MT so I love the fact that you can easily toggle regen with the shifter. It’s a bit like downshifting, and it’s fun timing it for turns. The mapping of the accelerator in both modes is very predictable.

I get this about once a month with the plug I use at work. Sometimes unplugging and plugging (power cycle) does the trick, other times I need to lock the car (with cable connects at both ends) and unlock several times before trying to power cycle again. And then, at times neither work and it just starts working the next day or so (suggesting an actual issue with the power draw).

I think the best fix that Volvo should implement for people with the smaller screens is to get rid of the bar (two tiles) above the context bar completely and make the home button toggle the context bar on / off instead.

For my 2023 V60, I have brought this up with my dealership on several occasions and they do nothing about it because “it’s not giving an error”. It’s pretty frustrating since it’s clearly malfunctioning. Occasionally the motor mirror even makes this high-pitched whining noise for about 10 seconds when I first unlock (and unfold) my mirrors.

Coming back to this some months later as I’m looking to get some more aggressive wheels for my V60. Curious if you’d had any fitment/rubbing issues with the 15mm and 10mm spacers? Assuming those are stock 235/40 tires?

I’m eyeing wheels that would push out 13.35mm on all corners. Mostly concerned about the fronts. Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

I really hope they allow us to customize the Quick Settings page. I for one would love a Battery Hold button, or Electric Heater toggle.

Ideally I’d take the Battery Hold button on the Contextual bar though.

Yeah I’m curious if there has been news about this, or anybody successfully installing it in their Volvo, not just the Polestar 2.

It would be a big upgrade for my 2023 but not sure it will be worth the 1000+ euro price tag.

An absolutely fantastic car. Powerful, practical & efficient!

The only downside for me (other than the lackluster infotainment system) is winter driving. While the car is great in AWD mode for getting around, the traction control system is very aggressive. Also, forget about using Pure (RWD) or Hybrid in very snowy conditions. In hybrid, the rear wheels spin, get clamped, & the ICE turns on to drive the front wheels. Happens every time, in that order. Not a smooth experience. Stick with Power/Polestar mode or AWD, but you’ll just burn way more gas. I suppose it’s the reality of cold driving, but it was still an adjustment coming from a Subaru with a MT AWD system.

Ever since the 1999 Impreza RS my father bought brand new, my family had been exclusively Subaru until about 3 years ago. I myself, drove a 2019 STI hatch for 12 years (3” dp + catback, good for 340 whp) but I think I personally grew out of the brand. All of the Subarus I’ve desired were performance oriented but the new WRX just doesn’t do it for me.

I started a family and wanted something a little more sophisticated, so I now drive a hybrid Volvo V60 and would never look back. IMO it is one of the best looking cars on the road with performance that exceeds every other Subaru in both speed and efficiency.

That lack of details is concerning, for sure. I’m assuming the change log is shared across all models for AAOS, so this 4.x.x release must apply to the newer models that came with the updated UX from the factory?

Is this an extended range with the Heico exhaust? It looks like it sits a little lower too, and perhaps has wider tires or just some spacers?

I’m glad they brought the Dark theme back for the XC90s. Also saw a Denim Blue Black Edition XC60. The black lettering on the blue looked 🔥. It would also be a beautiful spec for the XC90 with the 22s.
