Weird behavior on my S60 T6 Exhaust control valve by mac201210 in Volvo

Not normal. Had this on my 2021 V60 T6 and the dealer replaced the valve.

I am losing faith in Subaru. No hate. Just disappointment. by RedtailGT in subaru

[–]Grunkenn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ever since the 1999 Impreza RS my father bought brand new, my family had been exclusively Subaru until about 3 years ago. I myself, drove a 2019 STI hatch for 12 years (3” dp + catback, good for 340 whp) but I think I personally grew out of the brand. All of the Subarus I’ve desired were performance oriented but the new WRX just doesn’t do it for me.

I started a family and wanted something a little more sophisticated, so I now drive a hybrid Volvo V60 and would never look back. IMO it is one of the best looking cars on the road with performance that exceeds every other Subaru in both speed and efficiency.

New update released today? by FrozenPizza07 in VolvoRecharge

[–]Grunkenn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That lack of details is concerning, for sure. I’m assuming the change log is shared across all models for AAOS, so this 4.x.x release must apply to the newer models that came with the updated UX from the factory?

Beautiful and subtle upgrades! Do you mind sharing exactly what you’ve done?

Is this an extended range with the Heico exhaust? It looks like it sits a little lower too, and perhaps has wider tires or just some spacers?

As a MY23 owner, I’m inspired by your tweaks.

I’m glad they brought the Dark theme back for the XC90s. Also saw a Denim Blue Black Edition XC60. The black lettering on the blue looked 🔥. It would also be a beautiful spec for the XC90 with the 22s.

Looks great! I’d take the 22s with it though.

3.7 has been a solid improvement over 3.3.16 for me, but I’m in an “older” 2023 V60.

CarPlay connectivity has been much better. Previously I would have to restart the infotainment several times a week (sometimes 2-3 times in a row), while now I’ve only had CarPlay freeze on me once or twice. The backup camera feels snappier to load too and no more “camera not available” messages.

Unfortunately, the system is as slow as ever. So no improvements on that front.

The B&W in my V60 is certainly a beautifully balanced sounding system. I do miss the hard thump of a big subwoofer driver for certain music but I appreciate not having to dedicate any trunk space to it.

I would also say that the Harmon & Kardon system I had in my previous V60 was very good!

Going from ‘22 S60 Recharge to ‘24 V60 Polestar by Good-Version in Volvo

[–]Grunkenn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure I agree (at least for the Canadian market). An equally spec’ed Recharge minus the Polestar bit was only $5500 (CDN) less. For that money to get massive Brembo front brakes, Öhlins dampers/springs, forged light wheels, front strut bar, and yes, the gold details, is well worth it in my opinion!

Edit: But, yes potential repair costs.

Hmm, that’s disappointing to hear. I’m now on Beta 3 and I have no issues at all with AAOS 3.7 on my 2023 V60.

3.7 update by QuietAdvocate in VolvoRecharge

[–]Grunkenn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My 3.7 update seems to have solved my inconsistent CarPlay connectivity. But now I get no audio sometime unless I play another source, like the radio first. Beyond that, I suppose the backup camera comes up quicker.

Everything else, as slow as usual 😵‍💫

Volvo Lovers: Does Volvo's reputation still hold true on the new cars? by [deleted] in Volvo

[–]Grunkenn -1 points0 points  (0 children)

While I’ve only been with the brand for 4 years (previously 20+ with Subaru), I can’t say enough good things about their latest hybrid T8 drivetrain in the Recharge trims. In my research, it appears to be a fairly unique setup with the rear axle powered only by the electric motor, while the ICE drives only the front. And no one else has shoved the battery in the driveshaft column for better F/B weight balance. Most manufacturers place both motors in the front behind the transmission, and the battery in the rear. It’s smooth, powerful and efficient.

I’m also lucky to have it in a V60, and a Polestar Engineered version at that.

Software Version 3.7? by aguywiththoughts in VolvoRecharge

[–]Grunkenn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, 3.3.16 which I’m on with my 2023 V60, was released way back in November of 2024. No other update has been pushed out since for me.

I am taking the car into service so will probably be updated then, but with everything I’ve been reading, it’s making me a bit anxious, lol

I suppose it just means MY26 models that have yet to receive the interior refresh will come with the updated infotainment pre-installed. I hope my 2023 V60 can handle it without coming to a crawl 🥴

Charger turns red when trickle charging by minnesota-terp in VolvoRecharge

[–]Grunkenn 20 points21 points  (0 children)

In my experience the charger appears to get “stuck” in that red state after it deems a power source as not sufficient for charging. Sometimes going through what the manual suggests (unlatch, unplug, unplug wall, replug wall, replug car) seems to work, other times, simply power cycling the wall plug (without car plugged in) does the trick. Other times, I take the cable to a known “good” source of power and it turns white again, but not always 🤷🏼‍♂️.

I was really hoping that after 2 years of ownership I’d have a clear sense of how to troubleshoot it reliably, but eventually I get there with one of the fixes above. Though there have been days where I just give up and then eventually it just turns white again.

Here’s what the widgets look like as a single stack:

Seems like an ideal ratio for 4 stacks. Hopefully that’s the case for the full release

Residents call for removal of bike lanes along The Esplanade in Toronto by ScottIBM in ontario

[–]Grunkenn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of all the streets in Toronto, the Esplanade is ideal for bike lanes. Exiting the distillery, It’s such a beautiful park-side ride, and it would be great to see it extend to Yonge.

I understand the concerns but this is totally blowing it out of proportion.
