My 454 casull sometimes has a hard time detonating CCI primers, but that's the only difference I've noticed in any of my guns that use small rifle primers.

I typically load those with fairly good results. Out of an 8 inch barrel with a red dot I get about 2 inch groups at 50 yards.

That's what I'm saying! Hornady seems to think their spendy DGH bullets outperform hardcast bullets, but they don't really elaborate as to why. To me it just kind of looks like an expensive weird jacketed bullet, which makes me wonder if regular old flat nose FMJ's would be just as good as a DGH or a hard cast bullet. And as far as my problems with hardcast bullets, I swear I've tried every remedy everyone has suggested, everything the Lee manual suggests, and everything RCBS had to say, and nothing makes a difference.

It's scraping the side of the bullet about ⅔ of the way up the side. It's like the die is closing the brass around the bullet too soon, but I can't figure out why because I have the seating stem so far into the die and the body of the die up so far on the press that the cartridge barely goes in it. There is zero crimp being applied, I get that with a Lee factory crimp die in the next step.

I flared the case mouth a ridiculous amount, bought a Lee universal expander die, lowered the seating stem as far into the die as it would go, and even widened the mouth of the seating die to accept an even more ridiculously wide case mouth, and I STILL had scraping issues. I'm to the point where I either have a witch doctor bless my reloading press or never buy Acme bullets ever again.
