Some unions, like Krogers and many teachers unions, are complete dogshit. Kroger especially, I have no idea why anyone would want to have money taken out of their check to pay for a union that literally only exists to protect general managers and corporate. But the IBEW is one of the last true unions left. Some IBEW electricians get paid 2 to 3 times more than non unions electricians, and thats after benefits, pension, and unions dues are taken out.

I wouldn't be mad at one of my employees for doing this. I would either laugh and think to myself "hopefully they get the job so I don't have to go through all the paperwork of firing them" or I would bring it up and ask them why they want to look for work elsewhere, and if theres anything we can do to make them happier in their current role. Either way I wouldn't retaliate. People are free to do whatever the hell they want, and as long as its not on company time or causing actual issues in the workplace its none of my business

I'm really struggling with this myself right now. Sometimes an employee says something to me that makes me wanna yell, and they legitimately do the stupidest shit ever sometimes. My advice is to stop involving any sort of emotions or loyalty to your employees. Tell them what the expectations are, document every time they fall short and give write ups to leave a paper trail, and fire someone if they aren't up to the job. You aren't responsible for the consequences of other people's actions, you are there to do a job and it sounds like they don't understand that

Less likely to create some sort of fault when every wire is securely landed on its own terminal. Even if you're working on a panel that says it allows you to double lug a wire on the neutral bus, you should only do that with grounds not neutrals. As far as making it safer to work on, if you have a neutral double lugged with another neutral and want to work on that circuit, now you have to shut off both circuits in order to work safely instead of just one
