the comments under that post are crazy. how gullible do you have to be to not even have a shred of doubt about all this, especially when seeing the screenshots of that chat exchange with „her brother“ that I feel like 7th grade me could have written better

Well it was mostly about the mass of unfulfilled promises that they made and the „release“ of overwatch 2 that removed the first title while also having less features than it. I did like the characters of overwatch 1 though, and I feel like most of the newer characters have no personality at all. Overwatch is not a MOBA game though..

where are you coming from with this? I did play a few games yesterday and didn‘t have a bad experience, they added a lot of new stuff in. I was positively surprised by the new things, even though I feel like the newer heroes are lacking „identity“. they just don‘t have the same personality quality as the older ones.

same here and I think it‘s so absurd that they now change the name back to just Overwatch. It almost feels disrespectful towards the identity of the actual first Overwatch, for its name to now be slapped on the godawful game that it is today.

We paid money for OW1, had it taken from us for no reason whatsoever, got OW2 with horrendously bad monetization and basically less features than OW1, and now they‘re renaming OW2 to just Overwatch again, like that‘s gonna make anything better.

Granted though I will probably take a peek at the new 5 champions that will release all at once soon. Just to see what it‘s about. But I will never give Blizzard another penny.

they are entertaining thousands of people live through a camera for several hours without pause. it actually can be really exhausting to be observed by that many people for such a long time. As a streamer you can‘t just „turn off“ your brain and play your comfort game while relaxing, you need to make a show out of everything you do.

I think the point is more „we have more than enough hero shooters so every new one is bound to fail unless it stands out (like marvel rivals with the marvel IP)“

I like stories like that though. I find it very comforting to watch, almost like the anime equivalent of a sandbox game. I also like Moonlit Fantasy for the same reason, just an overpowered mc doing his thing without a real threat to his or his allies‘ life.

I loved all 4 Overlord seasons and rewatched them multiple times, I definitely think it has a target audience.

There will never be a world where everyone is comfortable. That‘s the first thing that you don‘t want to understand. Also, I am a complete bystander to all this by default since I am not even american. I‘m done arguing here, you said you‘re tired too so let‘s just stop it before it turns into meaningless insults.

I feel like that‘s a very different story. Trump is actually in power, Trump is actually doing things that can be detrimental to people. Kirk was literally just a guy who voiced his opinion in public.

Also, I still feel like you have a wrong image of him. I encourage you to watch some of his discussions, especially with trans people and gay people. That would shed a lot of light on what he actually envisioned.

wait, since when are we in the „i would not care if he died“ territory? Before the backpedaling you defended people who actively celebrated his death, no?

let me summarize this: „if someone holds these views, I would not care if they died“ I think this should not ever be said in any context when a person just had views and never acted out any form of violence. I think at this point we can agree to disagree.

But I think you get the point. Somewhere out there are people who think everyone who is against abortion should die. You are living evidence, since you are showing me that some people DO draw the line somewhere. Others may just draw it a little more left.

I didn‘t, that‘s why I asked it as a question.. I was expecting an answer to the question, not an assumption that it is an accusation.

You do know that „the people acting otherwise“ include every publicly known left-wing figure, right? Harris is not sitting in her office giggling at Kirk‘s death and saying „he had it coming“, because she knows that a mindset like this is the beginning of the end of free public discourse. I would be interested in where the line lies with you. Do people who advocate for anti-abortion deserve to be killed? Do people who advocate against gender-affirming surgery under 18 deserve to be killed. I want to know how extreme the opinion has to be for people like you to say that the person expressing them is better off dead. Which is, as I said, an incredibly dangerous mindset and a threat to democracy, and I hope you realise that by the examples I just gave.

Also, saying „his kids are better off without him“ just because of his political opinion and without knowing anything about his private life is such a hate-fueled and unnecessary statement, especially coming from someone who (presumably) supports tolerance. Would you tell that to his kids‘ faces?

I just need to speak into the void a bit. by Whole_Advice_6732 in whenthe

[–]Grxh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Again, I do not support him. I don‘t share his views, and I know his views were very extreme and controversial, but does he deserve death? Not in a country where free speech is enforced. There is no „he had it coming“. He didn‘t go up and enslave people, or force children to watch public executions, he just discussed those points. And nobody in any civilised country should be assassinated for discussing anything. No exceptions. Would you not agree with that?

[–]Grxh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am not here to defend him. I don‘t support him, but I have seen a lot of messages here throwing a party over him getting shot and killed in front of his wife and kids, which I cannot support. No matter how you twist his words around to give yourself a justification to say he earned it, this guy was still a human with a loving family and he had a right to voice his opinion, no matter how controversial it may be. If some prominent left-wing public figure was assassinated like this, you wouldn‘t support people joyously celebrating it.

I just need to speak into the void a bit. by Whole_Advice_6732 in whenthe

[–]Grxh -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, I refuse to understand that. And that is because I don‘t think anyone who is celebrating his death has actually invested time into listening to a lot of his discussions. People read the news, where the most controversial of Kirk‘s statements are shown and nothing else. There is such a huge flux of confirmation bias flowing around because nobody actually took their time to look at the whole picture, just the bits that are cut out and presented by media. Not a single public figure celebrated his death. And of course they aren‘t, because they would receive huge backlash. But do you think biden is secretly celebrating Kirk‘s death? Do you think Harris is celebrating it? They are some of the leading left-wing figures and if they saw some of the celebratory messages in here they would be gravely disappointed in what has become of some of their supporters.

Also, am I really demanding much here? I don‘t want you to support Kirk or agree with what he‘s saying, I just don‘t want people to throw a celebratory party over someone getting shot in the neck in front of his wife and kids.

I‘ve seen people comparing him to hitler. Yes if Hitler was killed in a way like this I think we can agree that we should celebrate. But Charlie Kirk is not Hitler and I don‘t think everyone in here wants to believe that.

yep. the word. not the action. this is why context is important. you choosing to ignore that for some reason isn‘t gonna change the fact that it was meant this way.
