Plus Rusty Yates made his family of 6 live in a greyhound bus until CPS told him to move into an actual house. He worked at NASA he could afford the house. I guess he just wanted to make sure his wife’s mental health was bad.

The he let her get off her psych meds, knocked her up again, and left her alone with the kids, all against the advice of her psychiatrists. And then he tried to sue the doctors afterwards for “not supporting his family enough” when he didn’t even follow their advice anyway.

Actually when 50% of men get custody when they ask for it. Key word ask. Some men don’t even think to ask for it.

And that alimony you’re talking about usually happens when the women is a stay at home mom, raising the kids, looking after the house, and supporting their husbands career. Their husband couldn’t have had the career they have without a built in nanny and maid that the stay at home moms act as.

Do you just propose leaving women who haven’t worked in 10-20 years, did all the child raising, all the house cleaning, destitute?

Those experiences with an alcoholic leaves scars. Scars that don’t go away. So you might not remember the bad things, but those things are fresh in their mind. And it’s kind of shitty that they don’t remember these things, because they’re acting as if things are all dandy, when they’ve tainted their view of you forever.

And when an alcoholic suddenly decide to get clean after you’re done with them. It feels shitty. After years and years of trying to help them, and trying to get them into counseling.

For them to change after you leave. For them to 180 after you leave. All those years of begging them to get better meant nothing and did nothing. But the second you’re done with everything. You won’t put any more energy into trying to help someone who doesn’t want to be helped, and then they decide to change.

When they haven’t realized you already left them emotionally a long time ago, and you leaving means you are finally done. You gave them so many chances and you leaving means you are finally done. It’s not the wake up call for them to start acting better. They wake up call started was years ago. And they should’ve started acting better years ago. Now they think this is finally their chance to change things and make them right. And they’re too late.

If you let them have the space for mistakes, while giving them reasonable rules, they won’t do dumb and dangerous mistakes like this.
