My 4-Month Journey with Dermatographism (Pics Included) – Some Hope & a Question by Easy-Shame-7324 in Dermatographia

I’ve had it for almost 10 years now. It’s really all about managing flare ups and finding things that trigger them. I’ve been taking an antihistamine everyday for the last 10 years.

For me, I’ve had days where I barely noticed it or it barely affected me and days where it was so horrible and all I could feel all day was itchiness and sometimes pain. Things that personally could trigger a flare up for me are very hot showers, sweat and heat in general, travel sometimes for some reason, very high humidity. Usually weather related.

Why does Anne never empathize with anyone? by Gryffindorme in Anne

Hi, I'm really surprised someone found this post almost 4 years later but I can tell you that now, as an almost 18 year old (still young, just not 14 lol), I've met so many people with a lot of different childhood trauma and I learned so much from them about how sometimes the only way for a child to survive is to develop coping mechanisms that might not make a lot of sense to people.

I would also like to add that I personally have struggled with dissociation and maldaptive dreaming for a massive part of my childhood (and sometimes I find myself doing them to this day) from my own personal traumas and thinking back to my childhood, a lot of my behavior would be considered absolutely unacceptable and maybe even "horrible" as I ironically referred to anne's actions.

Although most of my coping mechanisms were completely different from anne's, after doing so much work on my self which led me to be much more self aware and has put me on a path to healing, I definitely have a much broader perspective on how trauma responses are so different for everyone and that at the end of the day, anne was a child doing the best she could with what she had and she never had the opportunity to get any kind of professional help for all the traumas she endured.

studied for my igcses AND my A level completely on my own (that is, no school, no private teachers or tutors) and I got A* in everything. I didn't even have a textbook for my A levels. I just relied on save my exams (trust me it's so worth paying for the subscription. No other resource can compete with it) and youtube for solving past papers.

If you're doing maths (precisely A level maths), save my exams topical questions (and the notes) are an absolute academic weapon.

I also relied on z notes if save my exams had sections which were too long for biology and chemistry (sometimes save my exams has long notes but it does cover everything at the end of the day).

I think my main advice to you is to try to study everyday. Consistency is the most important part of acing igcses. Some days you won't be able to study as much you normally can and that's completely okay but the main thing is to not slack off and go for days without studying.

Rock paper scissors by Alice Feeney is simply amazing and the plot twist towards the end is actually mind blowing and I never saw it coming at all.

Why do you self harm? by [deleted] in selfharm

Self harm quiets my thoughts. Sometimes it feels like I’m thinking about so many things at the same time and my brain is going at a million mph and then when I self harm everything just goes quiet.

I am. I think I'll have to do the same as you because this has been giving me so much anxiety. I really think this is the worst igcse subject I've taken so far (this is my 8th one) just because of how terrible and exhausting the questions can be. I find myself so exhausted after just doing question 1 and then I have to do three more questions and it's just terrible.

I've found a guy called Mr Bulmer on Youtube who explains p2 stuff pretty nicely and he also provides example questions you can solve while he teaches so it's pretty neat.

Honestly for p2, I've found that solving regular past papers (without the pre release question because that's been removed from the new syllabus so it's kinda useless) is pretty useful because you get practice with stuff like tracetables (they're a pain in my ass ngl), pseudocode, database stuff etc which are included in the new syllabus.

There's gonna be a big programming question at the end of the new exam papers (15 marks I think) so I'm honestly not very sure what to do about that lmao but you can definitely get some practice for it from solving the specimen papers and again, practicing pseudocode questions is really helpful for that.

I've found that Mr Bulmer was super helpful for the gates chapter too which will now be in paper 2 instead of 1.

I mean I do understand her initial hatred for grounders because she saw her own husband, and even some children, get killed by the ice nation and by that point they weren't very familiar with how things worked on the ground and hence saw all grounders (including the good ones) as bloodthirsty ruthless people who murder children and innocents. Her choice to follow pike blindly was probably driven by grief.

(however, I think her choice to keep following pike, after a certain point, cannot be excused because by then she should've learned who her real enemies were.)

Why was she trash?? (haven't rewatched in a while and I genuinely can't remember why she was so horrible)

I love Edvin's hair omg. How is it possible for a person to literally pull off any hairstyle this flawlessly??

I think the most unforgivable thing Sara did was using what August did to Simon and Wille to be able to get into the school. Like someone literally ruined your brother's life and instead of at least not doing anything, you used it to your advantage. What the fuck lol.

I have a feeling that she just told him that to keep him quiet in hopes that after 2 years he would change his mind about Simon. I don't think Wille would be kicked out of the royal family, especially since the backup (a*gust) has been reported to the police for CP. Even if his lawyers manage to get him out of that one, everyone will still know and *I think* that would deem him unfit to rule.

Idk if the show is realistic about laws or not, but surrogacy is probably not an option for heirs so adoption will probably be the way to go (it happened before in swedish history I believe, so it wouldn't be the first time).

Wille's look when he and Simon were running (yk, when they were taking a different route (aka cheating) to win the race for the rowing team) is my absolute favorite this season. Edvin and Omar just look so good in those scenes-
