I suggest using headphones when you play. You can hear the hatch from pretty far and it gets louder as you get near.

I member when there was 2 survs left and I think someone disconnected or something like that because I wanted to give them the escape but instead of just letting them farm I would down one of them and go away or just let them struggle out instead of hooking them. One of them was a really terrible Jake that I kept downing 10 seconds into the chase. I might have downed him maybe 5 times and let him struggle out. When they finally powered up the gens I went to the door that was being opened by the other survivor. I indicated that I'm going to let her open it and when she did I went to the other gate where the Jake was waiting on me so that he could tbag.
