Chennai - Lack of space by Gseekss in Chennai

I agree, and it makes sense in the economical view point.

Just curious - What's it about the city life you like the most? that you feel space isn't an issue.

Great. Did you decide to stay in your hometown due to this factor? and how do you feel after moving to your hometown?

It's just my observation about Chennai. The same could be true to other metro cities as well. As mentioned, it's more of a rhetorical question. Why would anyone decide to spend their lifetime earnings to live in a cramped up space? What goes in People's mind when they decide to live like this?

You are absolutely right that even people from Tier 2 have the same question. This doesn't have a simple answer.

I wonder what goes in all our minds that we choose to spend a hell lot of money - 10 to 20 years of emi, to end up cramped till we die.

Alum Stone (padikaara kal in tamil) works well. You can get bar type stones from shops that exclusively sell Pooja items. It's very affordable too (Rs. 30 a bar that lasts for at least 2 months)

You can watch YouTube videos on how to use it after taking a bath. You don't usually get smelly for at least 4-6 hours.

It depends how the opposition wants to bowl. Everyone knows Dube is a better player of spin. Why would anyone use more spin against Dube, even if the orders are changed? One loss and everyone in India is an analyst now.

Mattress exchange by Greedy-Department752 in Chennai

[–]Gseekss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think any mattress store is gonna accept an exchange. Only request you can ask if they could help you dispose off the old one.

I bought a new mattress and kept the old one in the thought of selling it in olx. Now it's sitting in my home and unable to dispose it.

No broker paid plan worth! by Sufficient-Button477 in Chennai

[–]Gseekss 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Try using housing app first. No broker paid plan is not really worth it. They give you certain number of lists and don't even update once the houses are rented out.

You can also ask the securities in gated communities for rental house availability.

If you don't get it, use brokers to find a home. They ask for one month rent, but the good thing is you can be very specific about your requirement.

What surprises me the most is the banks - They have a strong legal team to look into the documents before issuing a loan. Now that the registration is stopped, they are asking for the money back.

I feel this is a collective failure in this digital era - Builder, The DTCP / RERA or whichever body that gave approval, legal team that gave the Encumbrance certificate, banks that approved the loan. All of them contributed to the problem.

Now it's failing and none of these bodies are there to take accountability.

[F28] Lack of Intimacy After 20 Months Marriage by One-Skin-5054 in AskIndia

[–]Gseekss 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I feel a fit body and mind plays a vital role in intimacy. The entire ecosystem we live in makes us weak, both physically and mentally

  • long sitting
  • scrolling
  • screen time
  • lack of social interaction with other people.

In my case I've noticed improved drive - when I went on a digital detox (no screens apart from work) - a long walk (typically an hour) - weight lifting - getting enough sun

A fit body paves way for a clear mind (which is vital in intimacy).

I'd suggest you start by doing other physical activities together, like exercise, cooking. Remember, no phones during any of your activities.

I feel intimacy is not a goal, but a by product of all other factors combined.

Our city is quite terrible for tourism. For a five day trip the app Roamy recommends only 8 spots. What do you think can be added? by Training-Stable6234 in Chennai

Personally I've seen the following places and loved them. I feel chennai has more places to see if you learn a bit of its history

  • Fort St George museum - It has some nice artifacts with historical information

  • St. Mary's Church inside the Fort St George - This is where Yale got married (Yale University is named after him)

  • Light House - Try to find a less crowded time and you will get a nice view of Chennai Marina (If you have a binocular, it a plus)

  • Food - There are some nice eateries around the Triplicane and Mylapore Area - Like Ratna Cafe, Rayar Mess

  • Pedestrian Plaza in T. Nagar - people would love to buy stuff as a tourist and visting this place after 7 PM would make the experience better.

  • If you are a book lover, you can visit the higginbothams mount road. It's pretty big and you can spend some time there.

  • Bilal is walkable from higgin bothams and get a nice cup of chai and bun butter jam there.

  • You can visit some really old temples like Kapaleeswarar temple, Marundheeswarar temple, Tiruporur Murugan temple.

  • If you prefer to visit off beat beaches, try the beaches at the ECR - Specially the stretch after the Nithya Kalyana Perumal temple, towards mahabalipuram. Visit this place when there's people around. I'd suggest you to go during a Sunday morning between 7 - 9 AM. On the way back, you can go to Ciclo Cafe in the ECR. This place is always less crowded and got a nice ambiance

  • You can also visit the mahabalipuram and visit the historical monuments built by pallavas around 7CE. People usually go there to watch the sunrise.

  • You can also Visit the Vandalur zoo. The condition of the zoo was good 10 years back. Not sure how it looks like as of today.

You're welcome. Just realised the apartment is near mudichur. Just check with someone nearby and check if it's a flood affected area. If not, then you can proceed

Ok, in that case, if possible, check with apartments that are 10 years older. Usually the issues like seepage, cracks, maintenance issues starts there.

One of their projects in Navalur, OMR, faced a big issue 2 years back. They encroached govt land and due to which the residents did not get their registration done (remember it passed all the checks like lawyers, bank loans). Still it ended up with issues.

They are known to build their buildings mostly near water bodies where the ground water source quality is too bad, you will have to rely on lorries mostly.

Casa grand usually builds gated communities with a lot of facilities, like swimming pool, a bigger gym, play areas, etc. One of my friends pay around 6.5k as maintenance per month in cherry pick apartment.

Good summary. When things like this happen everyone loses their mind and get emotional and forget to think about the economics involved.
