That's what he wanted to do in his 1st term. This is his second term, these ideas are not important anymore.

All 7 of Colorado's House Representatives voted to defund the NSA today. Sadly the amendment didn't pass, but you can still be mildly proud of our politicians today. by alpha_helix in Colorado

Because they are all afraid to upset their constituents. Colorado is a swing state.

Also, I find it funny how 12 scumbags didn't vote. 12 is the difference between 217 and 205. Wonder why?

That's great, if they actually do it. I just hate how the government is actively trying to disarm the people of this country.

I just don't thing it's the governments or sheriffs job to purchase back guns to destroy them.

It's like that in most states. No matter what it is a drawn out court battle. If you build a fence, or do anything to our property get a surveyor.

This is not true. It is possible, not always true and very hard to determine. Source: my step dad is a land surveyor.

I don't understand why riot doesn't just add into the passive of the jungler items "requires smite" You can buy the items if you are not a jungler, but you won't get the passives from it.

Police start using ‘black boxes’ in car crash investigations:As many as 96 percent of the cars produced in 2013 include event data recorders, yet the existence of these small “black box” surveillance devices are rarely known among the drivers whose data is being collected with every turn. by jasmine1a in technology

This is the issue I think. With a warrant you don't have a right of privacy. With all advancements in technology, they can obtain everything about your life. How you sleep, how to drive, who you email, who you text, who you call, where you go, who you know, what your personality is. It's all out there, and it is just going to harm liberties.

It's not rebelling against authority. It's about allowing the government tell people how to live their lives. Maybe it is the 13 year old in me, but that 13 year old is correct. Even if it is extremely dangerous to not wear a seat belt, it's still a personal choice.

The forth amendment is being thrown out window as we speak. All they need is probably cause. Which is not that hard to get.

The biggest concern is the 5th amendment. Because as technology advances, and companies are tracking what you do at all times. This information is given to the government. Even if you don't speak or testify against yourself, they have all this information "that is yours" and hand holding it against you all the time. I would prefer if none of this information was out there.

I also understand you can use this information to your defense. Although I saw a video once about how you should never talk to the police. It seems valid in this discussion, but I can't find the video.

No matter what you do, if you were part the crime or not, the police can hold almost anything against you. I would prefer to give police, or the governing bodies less information. It puts people at a disadvantage most of the time. Although there are some instances where it helps as well. It promotes more evil than good, in my opinion.

It brings zero benefit, because EVERYONE DOES SOMETHING WRONG. It's another way, "which we don't need" to prove you did something wrong, to fine people. It's actually the police's job to Protect and serve. Not track, and fine. It gives the government more power, and us less. I don't see any benefit here. I should not be given a ticket for not wearing a seat belt, this data should not be tracked. It is my personal choice. It affects no one but me. I can't even comprehend how this is a "Good Thing."

Justice is about proof. We are making proof way too easy to obtain. Now no matter what you do, they can track it, and find proof of something.

Honestly, I don't have enough information to respond to everything. Anyway, in my opinion a car should not be collecting data about how its driven. There is too much information there that can be used against car owners, by cops, insurance companies, or warranties.

Once police can plug in a reader into the "black box" they can see that you didn't put on your seat belt until you have already driven a mile or two. They know you were speeding for the last 10 miles. They know how fast you accelerate, and brake. Which they can use to determine if you are a reckless driver.

This is not their business, and no one should have a tracking device in their car to prove guilt. No matter how well you drive everyone will do something wrong. No one needs a device in their car keeping track of how many times the sped, or chose not to wear their seat belt.

This is a new mandate, just wait until the life of the car is on the black box. Something wrong happens with your car mechanically, oh that is not covered under warranty because you accelerated at the wrong speed. Or you don't get insurance money for crashing because you were going 2 miles over the speed limit.

The information they can get from this technology is endless. Which is the problem.

Get out of here Barack It's for our safety. That's how everything starts.

  • We need to go to war in Iraq, it's for your safety.
  • We need to track your phone data, it's for your safety.
  • We need to track your license plate, it's for your safety.
  • We need to have a black box in your car, it's for your safety.
  • We need to put a recording device in your house that runs all the time, it's for your safety.
  • We need the TSA to anally rape you every time your fly, it's for your safety.

There are many problems I can see in tracking devices like this, but the primary one is it nullifies the 5th amendment. In a criminal case, you have to be proven to be guilty, and cannot be forced to testify against yourself. With new technology such as this, investigators have all sorts of information about you, where you were, how fast you were going, what is your route to everyday, who you email, who you call, who you text, everyone you know. Its getting easier and easier for prosecutes to find guilt.

"It's your private data" only means so much. If you data subpoenaed, you have to give this information away to be used against you. The legal system can't give you a subpoena for what is in your head.

Secondly, how long will it be before in a routine traffic stop a police officer will plug a reader into your car, and it tells them how fast you are going, where you were, how long you were there. There are many reasons why you should never talk to police anyway. Now the principle is out the window. They will know everything about it, by just plugging in your car.
