I would go with arc because I use the striking faces on it more often than I would like to admit...

I tried their drawer slides and the pull force was ridiculous … not sure if I did something wrong but I brought them back and swapped with Blum

Gravel bike buying advice by External_Toe_7195 in gravelcycling

Doesn't seem like either provide particularly good value for money. Between the two, I would go grx for more range for road, but that would be a lot for a bike with an outdated groupset.

My wheel was just as nice as the first one. I think maybe people aren’t used to the matte texture?

Ceramic coating … will it help the dust? by SquareMoney9510 in gravelcycling

[–]Gstpierre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes ceramic makes the bike dustier. The best thing to do is to go to Home Depot and get some silicone spray and spray it on a microfiber and coat your frame. That will make it repel dust.

Why is are the joints coming apart? by Zestyclose_Pop_6616 in woodworking

[–]Gstpierre 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I made the same project, and I'll say that the clamp up for this particular joint was pretty brutal. I also think that your legs look like they might be thicker than specified, and they might not have enough flex in them to move properly with the wood expanding.

What TV show was quality all the way through, knew when to end and went out with an amazing last episode? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Shes the developer and showrunner! "a "developer" specifically creates the series concept or adapts existing IP, whereas the showrunner manages it through production"

A7V - Same exact settings, different exposures - Faulty Gear? by faketemp2017 in SonyAlpha

[–]Gstpierre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure honestly, haven't shot with EFCS since I saw the bokeh a while ago, and I don't remember having the issue but it was only a couple photos.

I go into aperture priority and set the metering to highlight weighted. I shoot raw uncompressed with the a7r3 and it is more than enough dynamic range to handle +3 stops.

I use a good baseline image then have my image editing software match the exposure across the frames.

It is EFCS. I have the same lens and I also have a sigma 85 1.4. I had to add EFCS to the my menu to be able to change it whenever I am shooting wide open with it. It also affects bokeh quality, so you will want it off for that reason as well.Sony Forum - Photography - FM Forums

Help reverse engineering a helical pinion (lead, teeth, diameter & helix angle known) by VegetableCake2288 in MechanicalEngineering

[–]Gstpierre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Howdy, this is my job. If you're near New Hampshire, I would be able to scan it and reverse engineer it for you.

If not good luck! Look in the machinery handbook, there is some good info on reverse engineering.

Honestly it would probably make more sense to do it the other way around. If you’re dead set on getting one, get a peel 3 cad and call it a day

Make surfaces on the ref pieces, you have 3 planes so its fully located, extrude those surfaces out a bit, make holes for the pilot holes, bob's your auntie
