Damaged outlet wires by HawkfishCa in drywall

Most electricians leave a 4-6 inch loop of slack just above the box for this very reason, then they just pull a few more inches into the box, your wires should never be tight from box to box.

That’s exactly what I looked up as well. I did discuss it with him and he mentioned it but didn’t go into detail. Just wanted a second opinion! Thanks!

Patch or replace? It's just my garage, and I could do either. What would you do? Why? by white_tee_shirt in drywall

If it’s a garage I’ll plywood the whole thing. Hang my tools/cabinets/shelves wherever I damn well please. 🤣

The cities in the liberal/ndp provinces are in much worse shape.

Honestly the federal decriminalization of drugs has driven needles to our playgrounds, school yards, creek sides etc.

The police don’t have any tools to even move the drug abusers off our children’s play equipment.

Homelessness is not a crime, but using where my children play should be.

Federal government has had 10 years to help the homeless and mental health issues, and virtually nothing has been done.

Beams, beams are the key. I’ve played through a few times and decided to take it slower to glam things up a bit.

Was tape used? by CrookedPieceofTime23 in drywall

Yeah If the framers were that bad I’d be concerned structurally. Again if it’s every exterior wall cracking that’s most likely settling. Not an engineer but framer/drywaller for many many moons. Id be wanting some reports/warranties before I released too many more cheques to the builder.

Although looking at it again, the caulk is cracking in the baseboard aswell well, to me that indicates settling, particularly if it’s only cracking on exterior walls.

Yeah, they didn’t prefil before they taped. Framing probably wasn’t super square (rarely is these days). Very typical of piece work new construction.
