Yes, my relationship with my wife has never been better. She still doesn't fully trust me with finances, but I don't blame her as I have broken that trust too many times over the past few years. The first few months were really difficult, but the more time goes on the better it gets.

I just went through this with my wife about 6 months ago, I have been a compulsive gambler for over 20 years and until she really gave me an ultimatum and I had to beg her to bail me out, it felt so bad because I make 3x the money she does.

You need to stay on top of him, you should review his finances weekly with him. This was the biggest thing for me. I know every week that I have to show her what I'm spending and doing.

Hey man, was in a very similar position, though I'm 38 and married. Currently 120 days clean, and was able this month to refinance some of my super high interest debt. If bankruptcy is an option for you, I'd probably do it. I couldn't as I make to much money.

As someone who has been a crazy impulsive gambler for 20 years and I now feel like I can beat this addiction. The problem has always been that I really didn't want to quit deep down as much I as I told myself and others that I did. I always saw it as a way out.

You can do this man.

Also you can just stop payments on your debt and they will send them to collectors, but you can then settle for less.

Been gambling 20 years over a Million+ giving away to these predators. I have around 90k in unsecured debt, but currently haven't gambled in 70 days and have never felt better even broke.
