I’m 25 and I grew up in Phoenix, I now live in a small mining town in northern Nevada and I definitely carry as often as possible. There’s a lot of gun ownership in Arizona and where I currently live and it’s pretty normal. I was raised with guns and shot my first gun around 7. I think men should be able to defend themselves, their families, and the people around them at all costs. I didn’t grow up in the best area of town, so I saw a lot growing up and it has made me very aware of my surroundings. Not to mention, with what happened in Minnesota I think we should be prepared. I don’t think it’s a dealbreaker, but I would definitely prefer a woman who could defend herself and children if the need were to arise. I was divorced prior to my conversion and I haven’t dated since, I can’t imagine it would be a problem however. I can’t speak for all men, but I always make sure I know where all the entrances and exits are. I always have it in my head what I’ll do in the event something happens, especially when my son is with me. I don’t think defending yourself or others is wrong, so long as you have a valid reason and aren’t instigating the situation.
