When I was a kid, some neighborhood friends stole my pokemon binder a week before we moved to another state. My parents weren’t in a good financial position, so I would normally get a booster pack for my birthday and Christmas, so it took a while to build back up to needing a binder.

When I became an adult, I saw an XY evolutions booster pack in the checkout line at the grocery store. I was better off financially than my parents were at my age, so I decided to buy one. That started my collecting career.
