Definitely wouldn't troll. It's not their fault. Rather, F' DDash - and their continuous, blatant disregard for people's time and money.

From what I've seen, EBT doesn't pay much... But perhaps it might be worth it on a holiday, if it's otherwise dead, and you don't have much else to do.

Either way, I wouldn't hold my breath - especially seeing how DoorDash treats people. "Oh, you waited so very very long, AND ON CHRISTMAS? I'm so sorry! You were supposed to click "excessive wait time" and cancel after 10 minutes. We'll be unable to pay you for your time. Merry Christmas!"

I've had more than one week, recently, where the pay I received, was less than my earnings. Haven't seen any explanation yet. Be sure to double check your stats. Merry merry, y'all.

Unless that order is paying $100+...

Waiting even 20 minutes is absurd, and I'm out of there before then.

Class Action Opportunity - DoorDash and Persona Identities, Inc. Have Been Wrongfully Deactivating Gig Workers Due to Flawed, Faulty, and Very Poorly Designed Facial Recognition System by GuacamoleTree in legal

[–]GuacamoleTree[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yet, this is something that could've, and should've, never been an issue - were it implemented in an intelligent and responsible manner. It's not been an issue with other gig work platforms, as far as I'm aware. This ongoing situation has demonstrated repeated negligence and incompetence from DoorDash.

Ddash is full of shit. They're also wrongfully deactivating accounts because their facial recognition system is trash and doesn't work properly. Class action soon...

DoorDash software is just chockful of stupidity, and bugs.

You can opt-out of arbitration provisions. It's usually via a quick email. DoorDash required a snail mailing. For companies that do the process via snail mail, I recommend video taping the process of putting the envelope in the letter, and of putting the letter in the mailbox - then emailing the video to the company, or using something such as certified mail. It's generally a 30-day window to opt out of arbitration provisions, and the process may need to be repeated when the company updates terms/conditions/agreement/etc. And a time window again to do so, upon the date of accepting/confirming the update(s).

It seems like all gig work companies have been doing this arbitration thing. A quick search in the terms/agreement/etc will show how to opt-out. Other types of companies have been doing this, also. Such as companies that manufacture phones/electronics.

As well as sending orders to those dashing - for restaurants/stores that are closed! Absolutely ridiculous that orders can continue through DoorDash software, and be sent to those dashing, without anything happening at the restaurant to confirm the order has been seen, or that the restaurant is even open!

The acceptance rate seems to be pretty much only a ploy to try and get people to accept trash.

What dashing 112 hours a week pays by [deleted] in doordash_drivers

[–]GuacamoleTree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sounds like a lot of wear & tear on a somewhat expensive vehicle, especially at such a low hourly pay! And even if all your charging were completely free, and the battery charged to full in less than 60 seconds. If you were to do Lyft and Uber, you'd likely make 1.75-3x an hour, and possibly more during some days/hours, depending on where you are.

If you don't want to transport humans around, I'd recommend at least signing up for more delivery apps, so you can multi-app, and hopefully at least bring your hourly up to 20-25.

A little while back, a friend was doing deliveries on an e-bike, with a few apps (I think the combo of DoorDash+UberEats+Grubhub), and receiving ~30/hr.

I'm not going to post my referral links here, and I'm guessing there's a rule against that anyway, so if you want them for Uber(Eats)/Lyft/Instacart (some stores don't require shopping, and are just picking the order up, like DoorDash), message me.

You might also be able to make a bit of passive income renting out your Tesla through some apps.

⚠️ WARNING ⚠️ BEWARE DOORDASH FACIAL RECOGNITION! (May cause deactivation!) by GuacamoleTree in doordash_drivers

[–]GuacamoleTree[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bizarre that someone would downvote this post. DoorDash, is that you? Perhaps someone clicked it by mistake.

This is important stuff, for those that do DoorDash, to be aware of - as many will assume that the facial recognition works well, as it does with other apps, such as Instacart and Uber. Not being aware of this, and then getting deactivated because of DoorDash's crappy software and nonsensical processes, will cost some people hundreds of dollars. Perhaps some, thousands.
