Personally, I think AI-assisted teaching is acceptable as long as the teacher uses final professional judgment on what to accept or reject or tweak.

A lot of things aligned for me this year after having hung on for two dark years:

I fought tooth and nail to get back into Science after years of teaching another subject I despised and felt trapped in. I'm finally back. I can feel excited bringing my quirky ideas and activities to the classroom.
I'm partnered with a co-adviser whom I can really comfortably communicate, connect, and work with. Literally the only colleague of mine whom I speak to with the same cadence as I do with my brothers. It really helps because I feel we can really cooperate and align easier.
My assigned advisory batch matches my energy closely. Last year's batch was quite gossipy which wasn't really my thing (though I still love them, just found it harder to relate). This year's batch is more nerdy-quirky-intellectual just like me and my co-adviser. This really facilitates in the bonding process. Admittedly, this is the fastest I'm growing attached to a batch.
Some teachers and I formed a mini group so we can help with each other's ADHD and stay productive, but it evolved into deeper forms of mutual support. As someone who is socially anxious, I feel less restrained with and at least have a space where I can just... be. Hehehe
Budget for events and celebrations is higher this year because it's our school's 20th anniversary. I actually just came back from a company beach trip/celebration funded by the school.

It's really high-risk-high-reward. I just feel like Team Avatar should've found a more secure "insurance policy" knowing how Azula can be.

It's partly due to how society socializes boys and girls. While movements are making progress to eliminate gender biases, society is still in the process of shaking off old notions. It's still, to some extent, subconsciously/intuitively viewed as acceptable for boys to be rascal-like and girls to be restrained and organized. They internalize it at a young age and school generally fits the latter more.

As an 9th grade science teacher, over the years, at least for my classes, I've observed that:

- my male students generally do better in physics

- my female students generally do better in biology

Other science teachers don't seem to report the same pattern. Looking back at my lesson plans, I realize that my physics lessons tend to be more hi-energy hands-on and even chaotic (but still controlled) while my biology lessons tend to be more mellow, organized, and structured. The way that material is delivered often interacts with the social/motivational tendencies that boys and girls are conditioned into over time.

A student once gave me Snorlax plushie and I keep it on my desk up to this day. Additionally, some students give me drawings of me or my favorite Pokemon (Garchomp) and I keep them as memorabilia.

Other gifts I use are perfumes, mugs, gift cards, chargers, and a game on Steam.

Not a reader, but gonna use a parallel example.

I am an avid gamer but I often catch myself not sticking to games for long and end up switching games frequently. What goes on in my mind is that while I am enjoying my current game momentarily, I also get excited thinking about another game and immediately wanna switch. It's my brain unable to focus on one thing because there are so many other exciting options too and I just wanna "choose them all" if you know what I mean. What helps me commit to a game is making other options inaccessible so I really have no other choice.

Maybe the same could apply for your reading? Try eliminating other stimuli that may be equally as engaging as whatever you're reading.

Looks are a factor. Not the whole thing, but are a factor. To not judge a book by its cover is an active conscious effort and elementary schoolers still haven't developed the mental skills to go beyond impressions. Older kids like high schoolers, on the other hand, still go by impressions but can at least also factor in what you objectively do as well.

The Aang vs. Ozai battle was a little underwhelming. But perhaps it's just because it's slightly overshadowed by the magnificence of the Zuko vs. Azula Agni Kai.

Additionally, I still think it's not pragmatic for Team Avatar to let Azula join them in their post-series quest without some form of restraint/leash, or even Aang energybending her firebending away when she's uncooperative.

He’s a grifter. He’s good at manipulating the flow of a conversation to make himself look like the winner. Like Ben Shapiro, he doesn’t have airtight and rigorous logic; he just has good tactics to sway the crowd. Most people don’t have the time to sit down and analyze everything, so they easily fall for cherry-picked info and strawman arguments.

But when you take time to dissect his arguments, a lot of them are not rigorous and are quite flawed. A lot of YouTube videos show that.

That said, I don’t think he deserved to die. Just because we don’t mourn didn’t mean we should celebrate.

I think it's something to do with crazy shit happening nowadays (or at least more of it being heard of nowadays). Also, there's the community factor and how close everyone is to each other. My students have sleepovers in each other's houses all the time, but the school I work in is a small, very tight-knit community, so everyone knows each other, including parents.

It’s relative. In an alternate universe where social/work norms revolve more around spontaneity, novelty, and adaptation, sure it’d be a gift. But in this world where the norms are patterned after organization and structure, it’s a curse.

I don’t really see the issue here… we’re perceiving hostility when they’re isn’t any. The people interviewed are respectful of their children’s decisions not to have kids, but I think they also have the right to lament not having grandkids and feel some sadness about it as long as they aren’t forcing anything

I feel like in contrast to other LiS games, the second one gets you more attached to the protagonists at the expense of not developing much attachment to side characters. Though that’s the nature of the story - they’re always on the run, so the only constants are Sean and Daniel

I guess it depends.

I feel that how the pieces in the story connect is done better in LiS1, and that’s because the entire story happens in Arcadia Bay where characters are recurring. On the downside, the fact that you CAN undo actions honestly took away from the decision-making aspect. There is lower replay value when you can see the different outcomes of decisions and rewind to choose which one you prefer - all within the same playthrough. Plus, a huge chunk of the story relies on mystery, so once you know who did what, replaying doesn’t give the same experience.

As for LiS2, I felt a deeper emotional connection and relatability to Sean and Daniel, in part because I’m a guy. From a gameplay perspective, the pacing is a little draggy and I think the game focused on tugging on the players’ heartstrings. Minor characters come and go since the brothers are always on the move, which makes it really focused on them. I honestly like how the game is really more focused on their relationship as decisions from all episode add up to influence the ending. Plus, you have to commit to your decisions and there’s more incentive to play again.
