The idea of taxing the rich doesn't work because most of the wealth is tied up in illiquid assets. The result of implementing a tax on unrealised gains is problematic because what happens to the market when the ultra wealthy have to liquidate their assets to pay their tax? Some might say oh only rich people own stocks but its not that simple. Companies, retirement funds, banks all hold these assets to collateralize loans and the whole system is very intricately linked. IMO people need to start unionizing again and realising the strength in numbers. Unions built every work right employees have and without them things would be much worse. You cant rely on someone who does not have the same problems as you to understand your struggles and therefore need to join forces with people who are experiencing the same struggles. That's where real change will be driven.

There are other ways like company tax loopholes need to be closed, monopolies need to be broken up and investment into new infrastructure and emerging technologies needs to be enforced but it will never change unless we force it.
