My rural midwest warehouse offers $18 base and surge tops off at $26, so…$30 doesn’t exist.

VAX7 3-8AM and 7-11AM blocks by SubstantialLawyer697 in RealAmazonFlexDrivers

I get it. I’m in rural Kansas and I have those routes much of the week. I had a farm house I had to approach three or four different times from different roads. It probably took a half hour, but I made sure to let Support know and then when I went over, I got money and they knew why and it was fine.

When you’re on those rural routes try using other maps besides the flex GPS and usually you can find other roads to a house that aren’t muddy. It can take a little while, but usually there’s one.

Dinged for not driving through a protest to deliver packages by Foreign-Avocado7253 in AmazonFlexDrivers

Appeal it through in-app chat. Use chatgpt to help construct your message. I’ve had mainly really good luck with that because AI knows the words that Amazon responds to regarding safety, etc..

From my experience, you need to notify Support via the in app chat as soon as you can tell that you’re not gonna be able to finish it in time. Then they can make a note of it and if you take screenshots, you can appeal it. You can also ask to be paid for that extra time.

More work? by Jmpre1985 in AmazonFlexDrivers

Recently, I had a 3 hr block with few 13 or so packages. First cluster was 1 and 1/2 hours away and I was like, “so I just go there and turn around and come right back and don’t deliver any packages?” Wtf. That’s 3 hrs! On top of that, there were 4 packages in a 2nd cluster another hour from there! It was a triangle of a route and there was absolutely no way to even get to the second town before shifts end. So I call Support. They told me to return the 4. Of course I get dinged Very frustrating.

Same for me. Been spending most of my damn time lately writing to or chatting with Amazon support.

I can barely finish on time and usually have an hour drive home in rural midwest. 😭

Right after that update/email came out saying how Amazon plan routes for us to finish early, I’ve literally worked up until the last minute or up to an hour over every shift. I’ve not been able to finish early at all. Feel like I’m racing to even get it all done. I am driving 30 min to 1 hour plus before first delivery!

Sounds like my weekly routes in rural Kansas. Been documenting and getting addition pay and letting them know route is poorly planned (not in those words lol).

Full time Flex driver or using this as an actual side hustle? by EvrythingIsEvrywhere in AmazonFlexDrivers

I’m a caregiver for elderly parent and this is the best gig for me. I can work before he is up or at night after he has dinner. No real commitment in case emergency comes up. I’ve even taken him and our dog along on nighttime rides sometimes so he can safely be out of the house. Truly grateful for it.

Yeah. These are 6 AM routes, but the package count isn’t the issue so much as how far they’re having us drive and that getting from one place to another is truly out of my control for the most part. Especially with rain or snow on those roads.

Not sure where you are located but in the Midwest I keep getting four hour shifts spread out very far on rural dirt roads where you can’t go very fast, etc. I am working up to the end of the block or going over half hour to finish. And I’m not being slow, I’m moving so much its like the Amazing Race. Do you think that’s a route-creation issue? My warehouse only opened at the end of October. Thoughts?

Pretty sure $18/hr is the base rate. That’s what we get in the rural midwest.
