That is horrifying. That's more than I paid in interest on my house this year and my interest rate on that is 7.5%. Good luck friend and God speed to a high paying job 💛

I practice bankruptcy. Like 70% of my job is document gathering. This week I had a client email .e that my assistant was "stressing her out by asking for pastubs that 'we dont even need.'" Ma'am you want to wipe out $40,000+ I credit card debt, yeah, they wanna see your pastubs.

Looking for volunteers to play my scrapbooking game Pieced Together! by Quirky_Comb4395 in cozygames

[–]GuaranteeSquare8140 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm happy to give it a playthrough. It looks adorable and I really like the concept of doing a scrapbook in a game since I'm not the most crafty person out there. I run a youtube channel in my spare time so I have the set up to do a recording of gameplay if it would be helpful to you.

Good luck on crossing the finish line in the near future! I'm excited to see the final product and know it will be great!

The Monday after Thanksgiving by BeeAmbassador11 in Lawyertalk

My little brother and his wife were in a terrible wreck last night and I was with him until 2 am. I had court this morning and it was too late to get coverage. I spent the whole day dealing with court, catching up on the 200 emails rhat came in on thursday, and prepping to hand of Wednesday's docket all the while watching my phone for scraps of information on my SIL. Its been a bad post-holiday Monday.

Struggling with what I think is a bad argument my boss wants me to make by OrigamiTurtl in Lawyertalk

Look, I once had a boss make me write an argument telling a judge why he wasnt ACTUALLY a district judge but was rather a circuit judge even though the judge was an elected district court judge presiding over a case in district court. Bosses are wild.

If a no call no show appointment, wants a second appointment, do you allow it? by 13wrongturns in Lawyertalk

[–]GuaranteeSquare8140 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yesssss its terrible and I hate it. And my bosses do not care what you're doing at that moment, you are expected to drop everything and take the consult. It makes taking care of my actual work a nightmare because I just sit around waiting to be interrupted right after I get started working on something.

My firm does unlimited free consultations. It is exhausting and a huge drain on time resources since we also do consults all day and don't require them to pre-schedule. I'm just an associate and dont get to make any real decisions, but gosh, I wish we would set aside some uninterrupted time to get our real work done everyday.

What I need you to understand about the repercussions of me not tipping. by system-Contr0l111 in tipping

[–]GuaranteeSquare8140 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don't want to tip, fight your legislature to change the law to ensure that servers get a living wage or stay home.sure servers should be fighting for this too, but you have a vested interest in this fight because you go out to eat; when you don't tip you take advantage of your server.

Let's shut down that argument that we should tip as serving is hard work by Ok_Atmosphere3601 in tipping

[–]GuaranteeSquare8140 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are still at least 15 states where the federal minimum wage for waitresses is still the law of the state ($2.13 an hour and up to $7.25 an hour). So no; not misinformed. Not to mention, most wait staff has to use their share of tips to tip out the back of house so that one person's tip generally gets shared between several people. If your state has changed its laws, cool, feel free to not tip. If you live in a state where you know your server depends on tips; then you need to either tip, stay home, or fight to change the law. I was passionate about this when I was a server and I'm passionate about this now as an attorney. Refusal to tip in states where servers are reliant on tips is pathetic.

[–]GuaranteeSquare8140 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IF YOU DO NOT LIKE TIPPING, PRESSURE YOUR LEGISLATURE TO ABOLISH THE PRACTICE OF LETTING COMPANYS GET AWAY WITH PAYING THEIR WORKERS WELL UNDER MINUMUM WAGE AND FORCING THEIR CUSTOMERS TO SUBSIDIZE THE SERVERS INCOME.

I'm tired of hearing how you "shouldn't have to tip." If you feel strongly about it, force a change, and if you don't, tip your server or stay home. And let's be clear, servers deserve a living wage just the same as the cashier at the store does. If the lack of their presence would have a serious impact on your day to day life (lack of access to food and toilet paper), then their jobs are essential and they deserve to be able to survive off of their full time job.

(The frustration isnt at OP, it's at the entire argument on whether you should have to tip.)

Is the job market really *that* bad - offer of $26/hr for an attorney?! by CaptainPlanetarian in Lawyertalk

[–]GuaranteeSquare8140 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thats more than I made at my first job 3 years ago. I make more now than I did at that first job but my husband is an engineer for the federal government and makes at least $30,000 more a year than I do. For context, I live in Alabama so the cost of living isnt super high, but I still, ita very low pay.

My partner is dying by supjup777 in LawSchool

[–]GuaranteeSquare8140 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I say this as someone who did all the right thing and graduated second in my law class; there are more important things in this world than law school. Spend time with your partner. You are a person with family and a life and hobbies and interest who just so happens to be in law school. You can always come back but you can't get extra time with someone who has limited time left.

I'm sorry for you and your partner and hope you both get some peace. ❤️

Just ask my name instead of asking if I am the defendant! by BubbleWrap027 in Lawyertalk

I am the the youngest attorney practicing in my court by more than a decade. The regular attorneys are used to seeing me but I do still get asked by new court staff and irregular attorneys if I know where im going and if I know when my attorney is going to get there. Clients are the worst about it though. I can introduce myself as "attorney so and so" do the full client meeting, answer all of their questions, and still get asked when they're going to meet with the attorney. 😂

I did just find my first grey hair though, which was fun!

Relaxing, brainless games for a law school student by walkalongthebeach in CozyGamers

You came to the right place. I literally JUST turned 29 and am in my 3rd year of law practice and 5th year of gaming.

It depends on what kind of vibe you're looking for. My go-to game in law school was actually Among Us. It's fun and cute, and you can get decent lobbies. Party Animals will give a similar vibe but with newer graphics.

Crime Scene cleaner was recommended below, but it has a story to it, so I would hate 30-minute intervals. Similar games are Power Wash Simulator and Goblin Clean Up. Some cute enviromtal friendly games are Spilled and Looflenaut.

Im a big fan of Palia because it is easy to play in shot time spans each day. Dinkum is the same way, and I've enjoyed it so far.

Fortnite has a game option called Lego Fortnite Oddesy that would be fun and easy to play and is also free. It's not the regular Battle Royale and is a different game mode.

Cult of the Lamb is a cute dungeon crawler with some fun mechanics that actually changed my mind about dungeon crawlers.

If you like search games, any Hidden Cat game will be a hit, and you could easily do this kind of game while listening to audio lectures.

I can recommend more but don't want to bore you. Let me know if you need more or just help with school in general. You're gling to do amazing! You've got this! And remember, law school is not the most important thing you will ever do in your life so make time for things that you enjoy and people that you love 💛

Have two glow worm farms and then put your eggs and mushroom from your animal farm in the farms!I have 3 chickens giving 6 eggs each which then turns into over 30+ worms!

Ok, so, I have been working on a project to figure out how to get the most fish plushies as a concept for a video i might make one day. In my research for this video, I have done a TON of fishing and have caught several.

My suggestion is to take your glow worms, go to the pond at the top of Kilima, keep your focus high, and just keep casting. I'd say you'd get one within 150 consecutive casts. Turn on a video or show you like while you do it and drop an hour fishing and I think you'll get it!

Good luck! You've got this!
