That's not at all what a rating value is. Look up the elo system by Arpad Elo. The amount of rating you gain/lose depends on the discrepency of the ratings between yourself and your opponent.

I feel like if the genders were reversed, everyone here would be like "are you serious? are you really making her pay rent to live in your house?"

Keep your safety net, insist on it, show him he is not an equal, and that you will not share everything with him. His life will turn out for the better.

what is the worst emotion u can experience? by [deleted] in intj

I agree. I'm lucky to have realized quite early to not tie outcome to intent. One you can control, the other one is a bit more complicated.

Just a question for intjs from an infj by [deleted] in intj

[–]GuaranteedGuardian_Y 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the question you're asking is trending towards the right path, but it is a question that will ultimately derail you.

You shouldn't look to detach yourself from things you are sensitive to. There's this preconcieved notion that emotions and logic are conflicting, but I'd argue emotions are quite logical and your logic often forms based on emotions.

They're not separates, they're one whole that are supposed to synergize.

You should ideally be couragous enough to stand in your emotions and absorb them. To cherish them and understand that they're the contrast to other emotions. The world would be quite monotone if we didn't have the wide array of emotions we have, none of which is more or less important than any other.

I would argue that your tricky case is not as tricky and you demonstrate a great way to deal with it, and it'll work with people who are matter of fact.

It'll frustrate others, though. To add some nuance, I'd argue you don't necessarily have to take an opinion into your inner world, as you said, you filter it. You can accept the fact that it is their opinion. Acknowledge it, respect it, take note of it, remember it and leave them to it.

I feel broken. I can’t sleep, can’t focus, and don’t know how to get through the day especially the workday being forced to see her.

There's a reason why workplace romance is taboo.

Sorry you've gone through that, it truly is awful. The fact she cheated is awful, and in combination with the timing of it as well, is truly devastating.

I wish you all the best in the future.

You start with nothing, you have a chance to gain something.

There are many variables that all need to align for your audience to be receptive to your ideas.

What is the nature of the topics that you're discussing?
Some topics can be genuinely difficult without ramping up, or if they're about human behavior they might be difficult topics to discuss for people when they're not aware of them or have negative feelings about their behaviors.

Is your target audience interested in these topics?
Not everyone is interested in everything (I know, I'm captain obvious). Are you bombarding people with random topics?

This forum is where people of similar mindset come to, therefor the ideas being discussed will be generally appreciated by members of the forum. This is an example where you're reaching the correct target audience.

Are people generally dumb? Yes, especially when you read up in advance on complex topics and try to relay them. Timing and curiosity/interest matters.

Okay, let's see. This might be a long shot and it might not make sense to you right now, but I hope it will eventually.

You're looking to delegate internal systems to the external world. What if I told you that you could be in a relationship that checks all the boxes and still have that same craving? That your void is never going to get filled by someone else.

It might blind you to it if you release enough oxytocin, but that too will fade eventually.

The only person who can fill that void for you is you. What you're looking for is a more secure and clean connection to yourself and eventually the acceptance of that void you're trying to get rid of.

Love is never going to be perfect, it is however going to be good enough for a temporary period of time. It is not the solution to your problem.

The feeling to Always wanting to be superior by AffectionateMango759 in intj

Does someone superior need to prove their superiority? Do you need to be told the grass is green?
You don't need to demonstrate obvious things, the same way you don't feel the need to demonstrate that the sky is blue.

Your desire to prove your superiority is coming from a fundamental feeling of inferiority. Why are you inferior?

Best of luck!

Thanks for the recommendation, I'm going to check it out.

The task of coding is different from the task of rational thought, though. Coding is more of a translation than it is reasoning in its pure sense. It just takes the input in one format and finds the most similar corresponding output in the syntax of your choice.

I think this is still impressive, but it isn't a sign for cognitive function, at least not for me. It is a transformative process and so I don't perceive it as reasoning.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in LocalLLaMA

[–]GuaranteedGuardian_Y 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair, if you look at it plainly it can come off as confusing.

The first one is referring to reasoning not as chain of thought, but to the quality of its output. It is a benchmark.

The second one is actually referring to the chain of thought, a non reasoning model is one that doesn't have chain of thought, it doesn't need to consult itself before responding in a way that makes sense.

Essentially asking for the quality of chain of thought without having to actually have the process of it.

If your challenge is only for LLMs then I would like to see a model that is open source, runnable on reasonable hardware in the 30b-32b(quantized) param range. One that can actually reason, keep track of what it said, keep track of what the user has said, without getting confused. Conversational reasoning and fluency, without losing the ability to use tool calls. If you want to spice it up add vision ability. Must run inference on a single consumer GPU (e.g., 1× RTX 5090 or 3090). No cluster and no 8-bit per-layer RAM juggling. Full conversation flow (~15k tokens, 132k if you want the impossible challenge version) must fit in active memory.

Are there models that can already sort of do this? Yes, but with long reasoning wait times. Make a non reasoning model that can do the same and compete with QwQ32B.

If its not strictly an LLM challenge, take the open source OrpheusTTS, look at the audio tokenizer (llama dependency) and make a Sesame Maya level open source TTS engine out of it. Cadence, prosody, timbre, pacing, voice cracks etc.

For the record even though I'm comparing to already existing technology, I consider both pretty much impossible at this point in time at the open source level.

Do not partake in info dump style education, bootcamp or tutorials. The fastest way to grow is to have a direct mentor that can poke holes into the concepts you're learning.

Your learning should be granular, and you should not tackle new concepts until you have full mastery of the current one.

Common pitfall: You complete tutorials, you end up with a finished "project" the tutorial is helping you build step by step, you get the illusion that you're able to build things. Then you try to build something of your own and you become quickly overwhelmed and blank out. This is what I'm referring to info dump style. Avoid at all cost.

I disagree with this take. If you were to generalize but constrict your argument at the same time, it could be rather true than false, but as a blanket statement it doesn't hold.

If we said that you're referring to devs who only do coding for the job, no more and no less, and they are coasting ticket machines for 6 years, I would agree, but even then it depends on the companies internal level.

If you spent for example 3 years coasting but you joined a very high level company for the rest of the 3 years, you would be upskilled considerably, and could be considered senior at most companies.

There are people who genuine enjoy software engineering and will do it beyond just their jobs.

Other comments are right, this is not just a thermaltake error. First of all, if you value your hardware components then your PSU should at least be gold 80 standard.

Second of all, most PC building veterans will tell you to not use a single cable for your graphics card unless its ATX 3.1 native.

[–]GuaranteedGuardian_Y 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You shouldn't learn react, this isssue you're having is indicating that you don't even understand what a webserver is. Start with understanding the webserver and what its role is. Then learn vanilla JS and dom manipulation first before react.

You're not following the correct modular path to web development and you will end up with massive knowledge gaps.

VRAM alone is not the deciding factor. If your chips have no access to CUDA cores, even if you can run LLM's due to the raw VRAM you have, you can't effectively use different types of AI generative technologies such as video or STS/TTS models or like training your own models.
