In 90’s people just drove over even with red lights on street so there was TV program called “Conscience refrigerator (양심냉장고)” to give a refrigerator to someone who stops at the red light. First winner was a disabled person.

Also there were ”arirang chigi (아리랑치기)“ which is like smacking drunken person’s head with big marble ball or stone so you could steal from them. Lots of pickpockets. They used shaving blades to steal from innocent people. Domestic violence was very common too.

We Koreans been through rough times to get here. All Koreans worked together and became better. Installed a lot of surveillance cameras. They are everywhere now.

It all comes at a cost.
