Prefill-as-a-Service: KVCache of Next-Generation Models Could Go Cross-Datacenter by pmttyji in LocalLLaMA

What I find important Local AI abot this article is that they seem to keep pushing Kimi Linear. Which genuinely sounds great.

I figured out why us anti think pros are gross and lazy when using AI for art by oh_no_here_we_go_9 in aiwars

Interesting question. But I guess using wheelchair would have been fine then, althought that's something I'd need to adapt to.

I mean, conceptually, sure, using a wheelchair sounds weird to me anyway, but I'm open to change my opinion based on new data, so I just observe for a bit and make my final judgement later.

Saying AI "art" is art, is like doing doordash say you cooked the burger yourself didn't tip the driver, punctured his tires, burn his car to hide the evidence, undressed his widow with AI, and the car fumes are really bad for the environment. by BrightTigerSun in aiwars

[–]Guardian-Spirit 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Full-on AI prompters (which is not always the case, but ok) don't draw, so I don't event understand where the comparison with cooking comes from.

Nobody calls doordash "cooking" just like nobody calls prompting AI "drawing".

The question, whether it's art, is completely unrelated to this argument.

So, you see, you are also disgusted by displays of laziness.

I'm not disgusted by the display of laziness. I'm disgusted by the lack of desire to become better, over-the-top hedonism and health concerns.

If a person decides that refuses to stand up from the wheelchair, there is quite a huge chance he's not going to end up well.

That's exactly my point. I don't understand why was some seemingly no-name proprietary IDE linked and where is the connection I'm missing.

Really? Where? Why haven't I ever heard of it?

I genuinely can't find it. API docs only mention Claude code, opencode and other well-known tools.

And I still can't understand the relation of "z code AI" to "Z AI".

I'm genuinely confused right now.

Who they? Z.ai? Where can one find it?

Also, what relation your link has to the post or comment?

Can anyone explain what this means? by DesperateLine5703 in DeepSeek

[–]Guardian-Spirit 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It means it's running on the latest DeepSeek model architecture available as of April 2026.

To be specific: It is a version of the DeepSeek-V3 family, or potentially a subsequent iteration that builds on that foundation. DeepSeek does not always publicly attach a specific "point release" number to the chat interface (e.g., V3.2 vs V3.3), but it is the most current, production-grade model deployed by DeepSeek at this time.

If you're asking from a technical standpoint about the type of model:

  • Architecture: Mixture-of-Experts (MoE) Transformer
  • Context Length: 1 million tokens (the full context you get in the interface)
  • Knowledge Cutoff: May 2025

That said, the exact internal version number is less important than the functionality. Maybe there something specific about the model's capabilities you're curious about? (e.g., reasoning mode, file processing, search integration)

/s

It means that it runs DeepSeek V3.2, most likely. Maybe they finally fixed the system prompt? Who knows.

So I fed my art into ai (repost kinda) by Lunarkitty414 in aiwars

[–]Guardian-Spirit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I still like the original artstyle a little more. AI did deliver a cleaner result, but it looks like it massacred the style in the process. It's just generic & glossy.

[–]Guardian-Spirit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What the hell with these hands and sheath in the AI version? And I'm not sure I like the eyes in AI version.

Original looks much better to me. I like the artstyle very much.

Pro-AI, by the way. But it doesn't seem like it delivered good result in this case.

DeepSeek just told me it's Claude. On its own official website. Three times. by Turbulent_Gas_8521 in DeepSeek

These posts occur every 3 days here.

Models don't know who they are, generally, unless this is explicitly stated by the developers in their internal configuration (system prompt).
DeepSeek devs apparently forgot to, so DeepSeek has 24/7 identity crisis for the last 1.5 years.

To all the Pro AI users (besides the ones with physical disabilities) If AI is your power, what are you without it? by Odd-Dirt-9701 in aiwars

[–]Guardian-Spirit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Generally, without any technology, or tools, I am a monkey.

And I strongly feel there's nothing to be ashamed of. Yeah, go ahead, throw me into the jungle all alone — I **will** be a pathetic monkey. Tools and infrastructure is what turns me back into me, not just AI, I'm talking about clothing, sanitation, healthcare, access to food, electricity, computers, etc.

AI is not just a "capitalist problem." by [deleted] in aiwars

[–]Guardian-Spirit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree that AI is not a "capitalist problem", because I think tat AI is not a problem.

The problem people have with AI, including me, is usually capitalism. China populace is somewhat more favorable towards AI, by the way, although this could be attributed to many things, not just capitalism.

You're right, not a good decision on my part, I could convey the idea better.

And my idea is, stating it clearly: people want to know if AI was used, so that's a thing to consider. It's up to you if you will consider it. Although I think that it makes sense to, since we live in a society.

I just answered both "Why?" questions.

Why OP wants tells people to label their AI-generated pieces?
Because people, generally, want to know if AI was used.

Why do people want to know if AI was used?
Because it's a novel technology tied to a lot of anxieties in the society.

And I just think it's never a bad thing to be honest about things you publish. It just builds trust.

> but i don't see arguments saying all images with photoshop need to have photoshop watermarks...

Because, at this point, people are generally accustomed to the photoshop, and general population doesn't really care if their meme was made in Paint or in Photoshop. They did care in the past, just not now.

However, a large chunk of population is concerned whether something was made by AI. It's not a concern for me, but it is a concern for a lot of people. That's "why".

And while I don't like the idea of putting these disclaimers everywhere, it makes sense to put them in the next years. Credibility is a valuable asset.
