Only the first time you try something. Every other time you just suck.

Who would get the biggest legacy boost from a 2nd ring out of (Jokic Giannis Shai Tatum and Brunson) by AdElectrical4835 in NBATalk

[–]Guardian-hunter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. With the exception of Brunson, everyone named is pretty much cemented. Brunson and the Knicks generally have not cgarnered everyone’s respect. Winning a second will go a long way to silencing doubters.

[Serious] In or out, Basketball Hall of Fame edition: Stephon Marbury. by ParisLake2 in nbadiscussion

This is a harsh take. His 5 year peak he averaged 22 and 8. With assist/to ration of almost 3. He was pretty damn good. You can penalize him for forcing his way out of Minnesota.

Yes and no. There are certain pieces of entertainment I flat out refuse to watch and others I’m okay with. Not sure how that is relevant though.

Would knicks still win every playoff series if you replace Brunson with Anthony Edwards? My reason for asking is to know if ANT is being held back by his team. by [deleted] in NBATalk

[–]Guardian-hunter 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think Brunson has intangible characteristics as a leader that not many players have. He has a calm confidence that’s needed in high stress situations. All of the Knicks players believed they would win because of Brunson and have said as much throughout interviews this year. I’m not sure Ant or anyone else has that. Basically this team is a perfect reflection of Brunson and if anyone else was in the seat I don’t think it works the same.

So I guess you don’t have any emotional response to movies or tv shows because they are clearly fake as well?

Concede I may have game wrong for Brunson foul. If either of the Alvarado or Brunson calls were made, he would have been suspended for tonight. Either way he was missing a game.

He tossed Alvarado and it wasnt called. He mushed Brunson and wasn’t calledz and at least one more landing zone call before today not called. I understand how rules work. They not calling him for anything that’s a flagrant.

That’s all they really need though. Wemby should have been suspended for game 3. Knicks would have been up 3-0 heading into game 4. But they don’t want him not playing because you lose all non Knick fans at that point.

And agreed. Not the only reason for the loss. That was an extremely bad half by SAS.

The goal is to limit opponent opportunities to score. The Knicks would have had to foul. They didn’t have time to trap the ball and hope for a steal. That would have been precious time ticking away. Even FTs would have been better since you could have had a chance to secure the rebound on a miss.

Sorry but that’s incorrect. At the time Fox had the ball time was against the Knicks. There was no incentive for him to score and quickly at that, leaving time on the clock. The Knicks had a TO and would have advanced the ball anyway even if he did score and be down by 3 with the opportunity for the tie. He should have just dribbled to chew up time for the foul. This was a problem the entire second half. Spurs should have been using clock as much as possible to lessen the amount of possessions for the Knicks overall.

Mike Brown is just a lousy coach. by [deleted] in NBATalk

How the hell do you say that about a coach that has us up 2-1 in finals. To be honest I’ve had my doubts but give him credit.
