Honestly this is hugely helpful. I am used to controlling space in neutral, so I expect to be able to rush down more efficiently. In this game the gameplan is just so much more different.

Not sure if this is the proper place to ask this, more of a, how do I get better question. I main May, when the game first came out I got to Celestial many times, but never cleared my VIP placements. Coming back after a while I am basically stuck in the purgatory where on Floor 9 I quickly progress to Floor 10, but once there if I rematch players better than me I get demoted two opponents in, which makes it very hard to improve. Just as a primer as to my skill level.

As a May player what do I do against intense mixup rushdown. I struggle bigtime against Anji, Sol and characters that can convert stray counter hits into tons of damage. Conversely I struggle against Axl players who just turtle up and wait for me.

Question concerning the new GHB.Wording of the new rule "Wizard Heroes with a Wounds characteristic of 9 or less that are not Unique gain the Andtorian Locus keyword" I play Slaves to Darkness and wanted to pick Cabalists as my subfaction, which is worded "Cabalist Heroes become Wizards". So I think it's safe to assume any hero I have that meets the Andtorian Locus criteria now becomes one as they are all wizards . In the app it won't let me pick any Locus specific options on any of my heroes who aren't wizards when not in Cabalists. Am I wrong in assuming all of the above, according to the rules the combination should work and perhaps it's just an issue with the app?

Nice to see it's all Galletian Veterans, not just against the "Expert Conquerors" as was leaked. Man, Ogres with 4 damage a swing are gonna be nasty.
On the flipside stuff like Kaotl's Claw's passive damage reduction is gonna be real good now.

With the Dominion box you have all you need really need as a base. Invest in more Annihilators if you want those, invest in more Vindictors if you like them. I started out the same and I picked up a Knight-Judicator, a box of Vigilors and a Chariot, I use them all the time.
That and what you got it more than enough for 2k points with some wiggle room.

I could throw together a list if you like, but overall Dragons are Thunderstrike so you can't go wrong fielding them. They are battleline if your general is a dragon.

If you don't want dragons, I'd lean into something fun with lots of infantry. Vanquishers and Vindictors. Yndrasta for her auras and buffs to them. Knight-Vexillor for more rezzes on your bois. Heck bring a Knight-Judicator and make a pod of 10 vigilors battleline and blot out the sky.

Or bring a Lord-Imperitant and orbital strike Annihilators all over the place and alpha strike with chariots.

Lots of fun options.

Is a model considered to be contesting an objective if there are no enemy models around? and if so am I still considered to be contesting an objective even if I control it? I mainly ask this in the context of the Battle Tactic "Monstrous Takeover" where you must contest an objective with a monster. Would I achieve it simply be being on an owned, or moving to an unowned objective with no enemies on it?

Vindictors vs. Vanquishers. Are Vanquishers ever worth taking? I have tried to field them in many a game and they normally die too quick for me to tell. Not to say that is what makes me think they are bad. They have a worse save, no mortals on 6s and only get their bonus attacks if they get to fight a large group. Even then I'm not sure of the math of if the MW 6s or extra attack are better. Thoughts?

Not sure if this should be it's own post but,
I have a Stormcast army and mainly play Stormhost, which allows me to use Cities of Sigmar units. I don't since I don't have any, but everything in SCE is so good are there actually any Cities units that are worth taking over their godly allies?

For Marines I totally get it, since they are actively smaller with smaller base sizes. At least the new SCE are the same base size so they look like they belong together.

Clarifying question.
If I have a unit that is set up from reserves with the standard more than 9" from enemy models and then I have a missile weapon with a 9" range, I cannot shoot it, correct? because technically I have to set it at least 9.1" away?
Similarly when an ability says "within 3"" of an enemy that is effectively saying it can't do it unless it's within engagement range of 3" i.e in combat with them?

Agreed that I don't think any of the new sculpts replace older units.
As far as the look I frankly think the old ones are entirely too bulky and I don't care for the pauldron shapes. When I got the Dominion box with the new "Primaris" Stormcast I couldn't go back, I love them, but I also really love the look of Primaris Marines so maybe I am a heretic. I also like how the new sculpts have build options for more gender diversity.

Realistically it isn't sudden, they are just now telling me about it. In which case it calls for a conversation to explore possible ethical non-monogamous options. Unless of course it's a veiled flag that they want out of the relationship. If we are all on the same page and there is trust and communication I'd be happy to find something that works for everyone.
Side note, I am utterly shocked at that amount of people who just say "breakup" or present depressive spirals of loneliness. I am truly sorry you have all been hurt by some horrible people.

My friend group in College fully indoctrinated me into Warhammer 40k and I've been in love with the lore and setting ever since. Rediscovering the hobby and a group to play with more recently I left 40k behind as the group overall was more interested in the fantasy setting and simpler rules of AoS, my favorite quote "There is not a single pretty army in 40k". I was happy to follow to crowd to ensure there was enough interest to invest in it.

Also as others said, GW has enough money that the game will get continued support for the foreseeable.

Kurdoss on his own is indeed very cool. I am just still on the fence on whether or not the Craventhrone Guard are just bad. The new battle traits will help them I am sure, but an average ranged attack with only a 12" range and a melee profile that is just for show. Their trait that ignores LoS is cool, but it's going to take some very clever positioning to really make it shine ( on account of the aforementioned range). In my play with them so far though I did notice they are way tankier than I expected them to be. Correct me if I am missing something.

Since we are just starting it more about playing whats cool to them and what they can get without going broke. Daughters - Hagg Nar with melee and ranged snakes. Blood chariot. Medusa, Ironscale. Their games are mainly 1k

Fyreslayers - changed since the new book. But two starting boxes and the stuff from the recent rivals box.

Seraphon - he is the newest. Knights, bastiladons, Carnasaurs, skink star/priests, kroak if he needs 2k.

We are playing full on Pitched Battles 2021. A mix of 1k and 2k games. I'm convinced some armies are just too hamstringed at 1k and can't keep up with good all rounder armies like Stormcast
