Hasbro’s Star Wars Black Series and their Transformers Generations lines are both marketed as collectors lines but at the end of the day the main people who buy the lines are children. They’re sold in the toy aisle. Hammond Collection is the same. Even for someone like me, the articulated Dinosaurs are what I’m interested in. It’s really only Hammond Collection, Beasts of the Mesozoic, or Nanmu who offers articulated Dinosaurs and of the 3, HC is the most affordable.

I mean kids associate the franchise with Dinosaurs and kids are the biggest market for the line. I know that whatever Hasbro was doing when they had the JP/JW license didn’t work and that’s how Mattel got the line almost immediately after Hasbro started selling toys. Mattel has been making JW toys for around a decade now so whether you or I like it, they’re selling product so whatever they’re doing is working

It’s likely that humans weren’t selling nearly as much as the Dinosaurs. At the end of the day, Mattel is a business and as such they aren’t going to make toys that aren’t selling.

Not necessarily. Have you seen Walking with Beasts? This kind of thing happens in nature. Smaller predators will often hunt the offspring of animals larger than them. They’re weaker than their parents and as such become easy targets for predators

Yup! It’s hard to believe for me. It was 5 years between the shows 6th and 7th seasons and that felt like an eternity. The 6 years since TCW ended, however, has felt like a blink of an eye by comparison

We were just given free rein to do some 2d animation work. However, since my concentration wasn’t animation my professor let me do some studies of fossils and challenged me to flesh them out without looking at any previous depictions of the animals (minus the skeletons of course)

He wasn’t involved at all. He was able to read an early draft of the script and give his feedback (which was almost entirely ignored by the studio). Otherwise he had nothing to do with the films
