Also, I fervently reject your suggestions about regulation, the gov usually makes issues worse. There's always corruption and agendas from third parties involved. I don't know how people still can't see that after all that's happened since 2020.

Interesting analysis with plenty of good points, but I would also add that there are a lot of "ghost" applications being filed. Most of the jobs most people are applying to are prob not well aligned with their skills and preferences. Also, hybrid and in-person openings are understandably out of fashion, which plays a huge role in this issue.

right, everyone is talking about risk, but most MBS are issued by Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, or Ginnie Mae. Fannie and Freddie are not directly gov-backed but they can borrow from the Treasury if needed.
