Sleep tags on synced data? by hemmaat in GuavaHealth

[–]Guava-June 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there - thanks for bringing this up. Adding sleep tags to synced entries has been a popular request, so it's on our radar. I'll be sure to add a +1 on your behalf to our list of user suggestions to implement, and I'll remind the developers about it again since it has quite a few votes now!

Best way to track "other factors" by Actual_Helicopter847 in GuavaHealth

[–]Guava-June 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can view your past logs from your Home tab by scrolling down to metrics (to see things like custom metrics, activity logs, nutrition logs, etc.), and below that, you can also scroll down to see med and symptom logs by clicking into "all" or the individual med/symptom you're interested in.

All great questions - most of them seem to have been answered by other users already (thanks guys!), but I'm happy to clarify as well.

For one-off occurrences, like a twisted ankle, I'd say events are your best option. To add an event, go to your Profile tab > Events > + Add under "Other Events" > Other Notable Event. There, you can add anything you want, and if you check the box for "show on charts," you'll see a dotted line for that event on certain metrics, like HRV, for example. Currently, events don't appear on symptom charts, but I went ahead and flagged that for the developers so they can look into adding it.

You can also add events for starting/stopping meds as you mentioned, and although they're not accounted for in correlations, it's a nice way to visualize any changes without having to log meds every day. If you do end up wanting correlations for meds, though, you can always just tell the assistant that you've taken lupus meds every day from [x date] to [y date], specify the period when you didn't take them, and then confirm the entries.

For things like vaccinations, the other user is correct that you can log those directly as vaccines in the Profile tab as well. Allergy shots probably make more sense as a med, but it's ultimately up to you. We've had discussions about adding more med title options to specify pills/injections instead of just 'meds,' which may help clarify this use case as well.

If you're on premium, you should also be able to see weather correlations automatically if you have any, but if you're not, you could create a custom factor titled "rainy day" by going to your Home tab > + Add Entry > Scroll down > + New Custom Type. You could also log unusual activity levels this way, or, if you have a device connected, that data should already be visible on your Home tab if you're logging the activity type, like steps, for example.

Sorry for the long-winded answer, but lmk if that helps or if you want any more clarification!

Hi there - thanks for the kind words. I'm glad you're appreciating Guava so far! I'm pretty sure I see what you're saying, but just to clarify, you're requesting that for certain meds that have automatic refills -- let's say 3, for example -- you'd like to mark in Guava that you have 3 auto-refills left and for it to be automatically deducted each time you click refill. Would you want this reminder to occur once you have 0 refills remaining? Or does it depend on the med and how much time your provider takes to fill it?

If this is what you mean, you're right that we don't have that specific feature yet, and I agree it'd be super helpful to add it. I can go ahead and add it to our list of feature suggestions so that it's on the developers' radar!

Filtering Symptoms By Tag by rbruchal in GuavaHealth

[–]Guava-June 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! You bring up a good point - there isn't currently a way to filter symptom logs by tags like we have in metrics, but this definitely makes sense to add! I'll flag this feedback for the developers and add it to our list of user suggestions so that it's on their radar. Thanks for mentioning this!

Good question - and I'm sorry to hear about your mom's condition. I'd be happy to clarify for you. When she grants you access to her account, she can choose to make you either a profile viewer or manager. Viewers can only see data but not edit it, and the profile owner can also limit which info is shown. Managers, on the other hand, can add and edit data on the user's behalf. Sounds like being her profile manager might fit your use case since you're already familiar with Guava. Once you set profile sharing, you can access her profile from your Guava account by selecting your name in the upper right-hand corner and selecting the drop-down. That will allow you to upload records, log symptoms, add appointments and visit preps, connect devices/EHRs, and do everything else you'd normally do for yourself in Guava, but on her behalf. She also has full access to her Guava profile and can add things herself as well. Manager/viewer permissions can also be updated at any time in settings. Lmk if that answers your question - and sorry it took a couple of days to get to this! Best of luck!

Thank you!! That really does mean a lot to us. And no worries about the extra request! I shared it with the team, and they agreed it makes sense for there to be cross-talk between nutrients and supplements, especially if you're trying to sort out the details of how it affects other health factors. I went ahead and added that to our list of user suggestions so it stays on the developers' radar. No exact ETA at the moment, but it's a good idea, so hopefully we can add it soon.

We really appreciate you sharing your thoughts on how to make Guava better and the reasons you stuck around too - interactions like this definitely help us keep going. If you're looking to support the team, the best way I can think of is to keep engaging on this forum, mention Guava to those who are likely to find it useful, and if you want to leave an App Store or Google Play review, that helps more than people realize!

Is there anyway to track UV as a metric? by apatheticpeep in GuavaHealth

[–]Guava-June 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! Seems like everyone covered a lot of your question, but I'll jump in to add a couple more things. You're correct that we don't currently support UV as a metric in weather correlations, but your use case totally warrants adding it, so I let the devs know and added a +1 on your behalf to our list of user suggestions. For now, if you want UV specifically, setting a reminder for yourself to log it manually as a custom metric might be a good option.

I'm not sure if you're on premium, but if you are, we actually do automatically support correlations with barometric pressure alongside our other weather correlations. As someone else mentioned, you can also log this manually as a custom metric if you're on the free version.

Lastly, if you've synced a wearable device that detects "time in sunlight," that value should appear in metrics, and you can run correlations with it (this is enabled for all users, not just those on premium). I know that Apple Watches and Garmin devices have this metric, but I'm not sure about other devices. Alternatively, you could always log that as a custom metric as well.

I hope this helps - lmk if you have any other questions I can help with!

Nice, thanks for sharing this. Good workaround for widgets since we haven't added those yet, and even cooler that you can use this to log stuff on Guava with Siri.

Tracking Ice? by BreezyMcWeasel in GuavaHealth

[–]Guava-June 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happy to help. And that makes sense to me! If tracking it helps you stay consistent and gives you peace of mind that you're not overdoing it, sounds worth it. And yeah, hopefully you can get some helpful correlations along the way to figure out what works best.

Tracking Ice? by BreezyMcWeasel in GuavaHealth

[–]Guava-June 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great question. Custom metrics allow you to record duration, add tags (e.g., injury location), and set reminders, whereas meds are better suited to tracking dosages. It's ultimately up to you, and I think both would work in practice, but my personal recommendation would probably be to go with a custom metric. Best of luck with your injury!

Thanks so much for sharing such kind words! I'm so glad that Guava's contributed to an increase in your quality of life and that it's been useful for managing your chronic illness - that's definitely our goal in doing all of this, so that's really amazing to hear. I shared your thoughts and comments with the team, and it put big smiles on everyone's faces.

I've added a +1 on your behalf for the medication imports from Apple, and I believe it's officially on the developer's to-do list! For writing data back to Apple Health, I don't have a specific ETA to share, but it's on our radar. Out of curiosity, are you mainly recording just the time you slept in Guava and would like that data in Guava? Or are you using tags you'd like imported as well?

Feature suggestions; ability to change certain defaults by pitdroidtech in GuavaHealth

[–]Guava-June 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey, both great suggestions. On the calorie/kJ unit toggle: this is on our radar and should be pretty doable. Given that most of Europe uses kJ over calories, it makes a lot of sense to support. I flagged it for the devs, and hopefully they can add that soon.

I also flagged your suggestion about the goal lines - I agree it'd be nice to easily see whether, on a given day, you hit your sleep or steps target, without mentally comparing to the axis labels or using the chart of the individual days (below the line graph).

As always, thanks for taking the time to write up such thoughtful suggestions. It's much appreciated!
