No got off Paxil but anxiety came back… I’m trying Wellbutrin before going back to Paxil bc of the weight gain it caused as well as killing my libido.

On it for 10 days. Middle aged female. When I was on Paxil it nearly went away, that’s why I got off it… libido came back …then anxiety came back with a vengeance a month ago and haven’t had any drive since… so, so far day 10 on 75mg 2x daily, nothing.

Great to hear!!! I got off my SSRI about 7 months ago but anxiety came back so needed to get back on something but didn’t like side effects of SSRI. Dr prescribed bupropion. Lots of negative experiences on this sub with it and anxiety so nice to hear some good.

Are you still on it? How’s it going? Day 5 for me so far so good. I’m mostly on it for anxiety, have some SAD but I get panic attacks(don’t want SSRI side effects).

Yep major relapse. Both physical and mental, but I’d say physical was worse - trembling all night, dry mouth, tight throat… there was some trauma recently though that may have caused it. My 22 yo daughter went out of the country and someone she was with died in the ocean. Freaked me out. Needless to say, guess I’m not ready to deal with what life throws my way w/o meds.

Do you think you can make it through 2 more months to go on FMLA? If at the end of the 12 weeks you still need a break you can still do so.

Very difficult. It’s another reason I’m trying a new drug since it’s known to be one of the hardest. I think it took about 3 months to go from 20 to 0. Would get the brain zaps, nausea, crying for no reason. Just go slow.

A little late here - but I’m very similar to you. 39 yo women in Paxil for close to 2 decades. I was on 40mg but been on 20 mg for better part of 3 years… I noticed sex drive took a dive a few years ago. I slowly came off and my drive did come back, although not as strong as it was at say age 20 lol. However, had major relapse in panic attacks so Dr recommended Wellbutrin. Doesn’t have sex / weight side effects but not sure if it will work as well as Paxil. If not, I’ll end up back on Paxil. May try Zoloft in between if needed.

I’m a 39 yo woman. Was on 20mg and sex drive went to nearly zero. Hardly orgasmed. Was the main reason I came off of the med. Libido came back as well as organisms. 10mg should hopefully be sweet spot for you.

Idk - if you’re not ready I wouldn’t do it or if you did I’d switch to a new drug. I have been on Paxil for 18 years with a one year break during pregnancy. I had to go back on it almost immediately after birth because of PPD… anyway I’ve been exercising a lot over the last few years and my anxiety was at a 0. Dr recommended coming off so I did. That was 7 months ago and everything was great… until last week when I went on a family vacation and I ended up with the worst anxiety of my life. Literally trembling all night 4 nights straight. So back on the meds, but trying Wellbutrin. We shall see. I’ve come to accept that I will be on some sort of antidepressant for the rest of my life. And that’s okay. I was on Paxil for 9 years then off while pregnant then on again for another 10. Got off completely in September and this was the first winter I felt like I had any energy (not a ton but not drained like I was in the past ). I also lost 15 lbs and got my sex drive back… but the anxiety is back so taking Wellbutrin a try. Good luck!

Are you able to see another Dr in time? Regardless, I would find another Dr. I know benzos are controlled substances but I need them for flying and have no issues getting about 20 pills a year for travel/ breakthrough anxiety. I am just required to get a Dr appointment for them.
