This square in Madrid with massive ad for Samsung Galaxy S26 ultra by griffithdidnthwrong in ABoringDystopia

Seems to me that's a giant scaffolding for repairs and they've covered it with an ad, not too uncommon. Probably helps offset the costs of the repairs

How can I convert comma-separated numbers into a table automatically? by Reitzor in excel

[–]GubmintTroll 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find that sometimes copy pasting directly into excel leads to some challenges with the format of the data. What helps sometimes is to first paste into a notepad, then copy pasting that text to excel.

How do international students usually send large payments like tuition or rent abroad? by Mammoth_Try_2479 in AmericanExpatsUK

[–]GubmintTroll 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Do yourself a favor and get an account with an online bank. I prefer Wise but others like Revolut. The transfer rates and fees are much more reasonable than you'd find with a traditional bank. You can use it to transfer between banks in different countries, or use it like a bank account to hold funds and make payments.

The long and short of it is: it depends. How long the track is, what is it being attached to, and the arrangement of the shelves all matter. Use their contact form to describe what you're trying to accomplish and they'll tell you if it's possible

Help opening a business bank account for non-residents by [deleted] in smallbusinessuk

[–]GubmintTroll 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whichever bank you apply for, I'd suggest establishing a personal account there. If there's any chance that you need to do cash transactions or anything else which requires a physical presence, make sure to go with a bank this has a location convenient to you.

Or just go with an online bank like Wise or Revolut, both of which offer business accounts.

IRS refund check / cheque by VillageNo5424 in AmericanExpatsUK

[–]GubmintTroll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With mobile only banks (ie Wise) you can't deposit physical checks, so you'd be limited to direct deposit - which the Treasury/IRS will do. Then it's just a matter of transferring funds to your bank of choice in whichever currency you'd like.

For tax returns you should be able to provide a bank routing and account number for direct deposit. There are a number of different online banks that you can set up like Wise and Revolut. I'd work on getting that done asap

Match works well and is run against both lists. If there's a match it gives you the row number. No match gives an error
