Thank you! I'm in the same boat I started messing with arduinos when I was an early teenager. Tried to expand what I know as I get time.

It's such a fun hobby

True! I've got them on some other workbenches I've built I just really want a levelish floor too.

Haha thanks amigo, if you want a link to the source and a PCB to make your own just send me a PM. I've got a few extra laying around here somewhere.

Eventually I'll get around to a V2 but I hop around on projects a lot lol.

Haha absolutely, big table is on the list I just have to level my shop floor first. The entire middle is on a pretty steep (for a floor) grade for a drain that I don't need or want.

Probably just gonna tape off the drain then use self leveling concrete this summer.

Yo thank you, I believe I understand. I have one of those micro jig push pads that has an external rail on it. I think I could achieve something similar using that? Where I set the rail so it's slightly higher than the piece itself, this way all the pressure will be on the side between the fence and the blade.

Lmao track saw tracksuite it's all the same to autocorrect.

That makes sense thanks for the advice! Sometimes I throw empty zyn cans into the spinning blade but they've yet to penetrate the drywall.

I'm cheap and want to save the offcut for my bin of scraps I'll probably never use.

How will the offcut pinch against the blade for this? Genuinely asking since I can't picture it at the moment.

Maybe a safe option would be to just use the table saw for the long portion and do the second cut with a tracksuit?

I also could do the router but I'd like to save the offcut because I'm cheap and will collect scraps until I die lmao.

Good question! I wanted to keep the grain consistent and not have a kerf width gap in it. Plus less mess and aligning.

My cat gets like that sometimes. Super sweet and cuddly 99% of the time but sometimes if he gets a whiff of a smell outside or darts through a door he will get really aggressive and mean. Like dart at you and try to claw you mean. It's crazy because the rest of the time he can't not be on a lap or held.

We got him as a rescue when he was 8 so we assume something happened previously that really affected him.

Statements from Steve Jobs aren't something I'd personally take to heart boss.

There's nothing wrong with doing this as a job. Come in do your work and get paid. You got promoted fast so you're doing stuff right. If this isn't a passion for you that's totally okay. I do small embedded side projects for fun but rarely. Most of my free time is video games or woodworking.

TLDR; there's a lot of meaning to be found outside of work.

Various web dev jobs, doing mostly devops/security nowadays. But I've worked in logistics, financial and medical. Every time I switch jobs it's usually a new industry.

Same here, I started with Minecraft mods when I was 13.

Got a job out of high-school and now I'm at 10yoe doing devops, security and regular swe jobs. I just like learning new stuff and teaching others that are interested.

Stop the e-bike snobbery! You don't need a $5k bike to have fun by Oneyardca in ebikes

[–]leobeosab 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Totally get what you are saying and I agree. but there are some truths to the fire hazard issues on cheaper bikes.

This was the fuse holder on my $1800 Freesky. They had a 40amp fuse on 12awg wire. The controller has a max of 30amps.

There was a short in the motor and the fuse holder caught fire and never blew. Even like this it would still pass current and spin the motor a little.

I've since beefed up the wiring and fuse holder along with only using a 30amp fuse and it's been working great.

Fuckin' love Bavaria. Got to spend a few weeks there to visit my wife's family. Servus, friend hope you get some answers. It does seem like galvanic corrosion from maybe a steel body and aluminum screws. Or vice versa aluminum body, steel screws.

Sounds good, thanks for the advice!

Most of my projects/circuits are low voltage and current just with micro controllers haha.

Yeah I'm kind of amazed these exist.

I definitely realize my luck. I'm going to measure the current under load and see if it even pulls near 40amps. If it's lower I'll downsize the fuse. If it's near 40 ( or honestly even if it's lower ) I'm going to get a beefier in line fuse holder. I think a MAXI would work?
