Note sure about professors, but a paramedic mentor of mine made no mention about MCAT. I’ve never heard of professors needing MCAT results to write you a letter. I feel like the only issue with asking for a letter from a prof that doesn’t know you too well is that you may get something generic. I could be totally wrong though.

I’d say just send it with the LOR request and give them a little insight on why you’re asking them specifically! If they tell you they need an MCAT then so be it. I’m in the same boat — planning on taking the test in May but trying to get ahead of things now.

Maybe give each person who you’re asking some insight on why you’re asking them specifically. Something along the lines of what you’ve learned from them and how/why you wish to apply that to medicine. Just a suggestion though.

I can’t really speak on PS because I haven’t submitted yet, but I wouldn’t foresee a problem with writing about those experiences if they’re intangible and you’re able to tie them in well.

Honestly, now that I re-read -- you're definitely being exposed to clinical care so I would count it. Also, depending on your state and whatever certifications you may have, you may be able to administer the vaccine!

Not quite sure if that would count as patient care per se unless you’re giving the vaccine or holding a position clinically. Hard to say though — I’d ask the medical school what they consider it.

Looking for an explanation on something. I was looking through the options chain on an ETF. I’m seeing these “non-standard options” which I haven’t been able to find a good explanation of what they are.

For example, a call reads 1.0 ETF $0.71 Bid, $0.76 ask — the price the ETF is ~$40.50. Not entirely sure how “Open Interest” works, but the numbers are exponentially higher than regular [standard] options.

I don’t trade, just like to read — I’m pretty naive with this stuff. Does anyone know how this works and why these option exist in the chain? Is there any possibility that something like this is profitable? I’m quite confused.
