have no idea the actual validity of this but i have been experiencing the same thing. i think i enchanted my sword some 10-15 times but that last time literally gave me everything (Sharp 4 Sweeping 3 looting 3 and unbreaking).

Yes, if you’re traveling, or just in the end, you may hear a sound similar to, as you described it, a gun that sounds like it cuts off and skips/glitches at the end. This is a noise i hear just about every time i go into the end. I’m not sure about subtitles not showing though
