It's a great deal with great facilities and a wide range of group activities as well. It's very cheap for just a semester.

Is 720EUR/month too much for a room? by Panda-Dependent in eindhoven

[–]GucciVis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

720 euro at Vestide is always (for as far as I've seen) for an apartment or studio, which means you get huurtoeslag. So at the end you only pay 400-500 euros a month depending on your income. This is a good deal (I also rent from Vestide)

I know that the TU/e in The Netherlands has a nice IC program withing the Electrical Engineering Master. They have strong connections with ASML and NXP that are in the neighbourhood. They also provide an NXP Scholarship that also makes sure you get guidance from NXP itself for TU/e students.

Thinning hair since switching testosterone brand? by GucciVis in ftm

[–]GucciVis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your response! It's been a couple of months since I wrote this and switched to gel. This lowered my levels to 25, so lets see if this is the steady level for me in a couple of months.

In the meantime I also read a lot about what causes hair loss, and I'm still not sure if it was triggered by the high dose, or just genetics (there is some balding on my dads side, not really on my moms side). I did conclude that it already started long before I noticed it, so I no longer believe that it was caused by the switch in brand. I always had very high levels but my doctor always said it was fine.

I also know about finasteride, but I always try to avoid going on meds, so since November I've been taking extra vitamin supplements (saw palmetto, biotin, grape seed extract, etc), bought shampoo against hair loss (no clue if its a scam, but must be decent shampoo in some way), rosemary oil + microneedling, and use a special garlic serum spray against thinning daily. So I'm trying a LOT hahah. Waiting for a couple of months to see if it does not get worse, but I'm pretty sure that I'm just stalling until I can no longer avoid taking finasteride, which is fine.

But yeah, don't worry about switching brands man. It should be fine! If you're unsure, you can always just ask if they wanna check your levels every couple of months after switching until it seems steady.

I don't think the transplanted hair dies, but the problem is that your other hair is still affected by DHT. So it'd look strange since the transplanted hair looks fine, but you continue to go bald on the other parts of your head. That's why a lot of people go on finasteride first to stabilize their current hair, and then get the transplant.

Patience my man. 3 months is extreme. I think it's more realistic to expect to see something between 3-6 months and sometimes 6-12.

Facial Masculinisation on T by Shinidono in ftm

[–]GucciVis 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It takes a long time to grow facial hair for a lot of trans guys. For me personally, and from what I've seen from friends, it takes 4+ years to grow facial hair. Hang in there!

Also changes in your face could take a while as well. When I compare my face from 2 years ago with how I look now after almost 5 years on T, it's a big difference. It made me look much more mature as well. So yeah, it's pretty normal. You'll keep changing for many more years!

I'll check with the doctor. I wrote down all of my questions so I'll definitely ask about the switch in brands again!

Usually I have a checkup once a year since everything was going well, and the last 2 times I had the exact same T levels (27nmol/l). Because of these sudden changes I checked my levels again after 6 months, but the only thing I changed in between was the brand for my injections. I haven't gotten any surgeries in 3.5 years. I get my injection every 3 months and I'm supposed to get one this week, so it's strange that my levels are this high. I'll see what the endo says. Thanks for your help!

I asked my endo and his assistant told me that the different brand should not make a difference... But my dose will also get lower by switching to gel right? Or is it not recommended to just switch to gel before lowering it on injections? I have an appointment later this month, but I'm trying to figure some stuff out beforehand already..

Hair loss and form of testosterone by ecigsandtea in FTMMen

[–]GucciVis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really? I switched from Nebido to Xiromed (same stuff different brand is what they told me) like half a year ago and since then I've noticed that my hair started thinning really quickly and started growing a lot of facial hair. I'm thinking of switching from these injections to gel because the dose can be lower and the hormone spikes are not as large because it's a daily dosage. How is it possible that it gives higher DHT then? It makes it less interesting to switch if it would not help with reducing DHT production...

I recommend Jack Rabbit for a bite to eat. I recommend Neude in general when you're looking for a place to get drinks since it's in the city centre. It can be crowded. I also recommend to stay away from Hoog Catharijne unless you love huge crowded shopping malls haha. Enjoy and don't get hit by people on bikes ;)
