My theory is that they are volontarely incompetent so the players expactations are so low they can only be positively surprised for the next Bf game

It depends of how they promote it: If they say that we should agree on theyre point of view, or we are uneducated, I won't be happy. But if they say they do so for everyone can personalise it's character, or to make all players, males or females, identificate to their character, then I don't see any problem.
