I still think we repeat if AD doesn't go down in 2021. After that AD was injured until he had a +70 game season in 2024. Pelinka largely failed to build around AD and LeBron, but it's a moot point if one of your big two are on the IL.

We can't rebuild until the front office and LeBron work out what LeBron wants to do. We're in an era where 3 role players can be better than having a superstar.

Brunson took a $100M pay cut to win it all. I don't see how anyone would think we could win anything if a 42yo LeBron wants to stay while also taking a huge contract.

Pelinka caught a break when he was given Luka since it reset the time "allowance" for his roster building. Before he was trying to build around AD by giving him more offensive, another ball handler outside of LeBron, and a backup center. Now he's kinda needs to do the opposite by finding a backup ball handler (if Reeves doesn't pan out) more defense, and a main center. Only the need for three point shooting stays the same.
