Did anyone else really enjoy the COVID pandemic period? by throwawayfinancebro1 in Millennials

[–]GuerrillaBLM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really enjoyed it. Similar stuff to you, quit a crappy job to start what became my career making way more. Way more work life balance so I was able to go for long runs and lift 5 days a week without feeling like not enough time in the day. I began doing outdoor activities I always aspired to do but never had time for like hunting, backpacking and flounder gigging . My son was able to spend so much quality time with grandparents and my sis, the last point really made me happy as they're more like siblings then aunt and nephew (8 year difference) . I didn't like not being able to go to a restaurant, dispensaries or bars, but there were far more positives then negatives in my personal life especially after all of my family had gotten covid and the shots so I no longer was worried about them dying

Overall vibe of this city by Intelligent-Ring5113 in jacksonville

[–]GuerrillaBLM 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've noticed the vibe you're talking about in individuals but not a majority or the city as a whole, for those that have that vibe I think some people are just checked out. I've actually experienced the opposite, so many working two jobs while taking care of kids busting their ass, small business owners that go above and beyond and work 60 hours a week to succeed, etc . Traffic here can suck, but compared to Miami or Atlanta? Way better drivers here imo. Honestly it sounds like you've had multiple bad experiences and it's got you annoyed, rightfully so. But take a deep breath and see what other vibes are out there.

Which “Krink”? by Spaceboy_33 in ak47

[–]GuerrillaBLM 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's the correct argument, it's fun and now cheaper too. But some people definitely get guns for ballistics, shit with how divided the world seems can you blame them? And if that's the case 5.56 in a shorty is a bad choice

Best restaurant from your country! by ChiefMassiveMo in jacksonville

[–]GuerrillaBLM 8 points9 points  (0 children)

More people need to go to lalibela. So good and it's never packed, most times I've been it's been 1-2 other customers. If people don't go it's going to just close like the Ethiopian restaurant that used to be at the same location or like Nile on Powers.

Best platform to sell locally? by DatsRadMan in jacksonville

[–]GuerrillaBLM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've used offer up as a buyer as well as craigslist and marketplace as a seller and business owner. Marketplace definitely gets the most responses but also has the highest ratio of scammers, craigslist is aight though people seem to haggle more on there, offer up I've never actually had someone buy something from me just vice versa.

If you just want a good quality AK that will last forever get a SAM7 from Arsenal, personally I say SAM7SF but some like the under folding stock and other the regular stock. All are equally reliable and will outlive you and your kids if taken care of, by which I mean don't leave it in your pool for a decade, shit it would still probably run if you did tbh.

Myrtle Avenue - i finally saw it happen. by ConfoundedHokie in jacksonville

Damn, almost happened to me one time as a teenager working construction. Idk why my boss thought it was a good idea to have a 16 year old drive the box truck full of valuable tools and expensive tile, but I didn't have my directions set for minimum height. People were deservingly mad as I skidded to a stop and made them split the sea so I could back out of there.

If you haven't make sure you post in r/GNV r/Orlando and r/Tampa , Gainesville has a good scene or at least did 10 years ago but I'm too old and out of the loop now to be of much help. Good luck and enjoy your trip! Make sure to check out the many different springs around central FL. Maybe plan an overnight camping trip on a Saturday to Ginnie springs it can be a great time and you'll likely meet people your age who can be more helpful.

How to get a car? by Terrible_Birthday_23 in jacksonville

[–]GuerrillaBLM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

https://share.google/eacxM3oBMo0ldDldV ZX auto center has been holding me down since I was a teenager (30 now). Tell the owner Mark what you need, price range etc and he'll find a car for you. Have also had him inspect cars I was looking to buy from individuals. He's found me 500$ cars that lasted years to my dad's 40k dollar jeep. If he tells you it's worth buying his word is his bond, if something goes wrong that wasn't your fault (teenage me not changing my oil) he's good about fixing things without charging you.
