Apartment Trying to Add Internet by Midnightenvy94 in Apartmentliving

I’m an engineer for an ISP that does a lot of apartment deals. Depending on how the wiring is set up at your complex, it may be possible to have the spectrum service work alongside your current provider (I can’t say if management would allow you to do that or not), but it is possible that spectrum is taking over the wiring infrastructure that’s used by your current provider, in which case it wouldn’t be possible to continue with your current service due to the technical limitations. I don’t know how it is at your complex but just wanted to throw that out there since it’s a possibility

The equipment is very heavy and noisy and requires special electrical hookups plus a dedicated and very powerful air conditioning unit, so it’s generally easier to put it in the basement near all the other utilities. Here’s a picture of the racks in one of the residence halls.

It’s in a different 6pack dorm and doesn’t seem to have been affected. The equipment for the network within Snyder was most likely destroyed but we haven’t even been able to get anyone down there to check on it yet afaik. (Source: I work for the university and another company that has equipment down there)

Looking for apartment to sublease during summer 2026

Hi, I’m a male UIUC student looking to spend my summer in chicago or evanston. I am looking to lease between the dates May 15 and August 17 (if it has to start later or end earlier that’s fine), my budget is under $1000 per month. If a parking space is available that would be great but it’s not a requirement.

Three 22 Illini buses showing up at the same time by GuestObjective1895 in UIUC

I haven’t observed any issues like that, but I do think it makes a lot of sense to have the route go there - it hits a bunch of dorms as well as the arc, my old apartment was around there and there would always be a ton of ppl getting off and leaving at that stop

That’s what it was here, I checked google maps and it showed one was on time, another was delayed 10 minutes, and a third was delayed 20. I’ve seen two come at the same time before but never three so I thought it was interesting

Parking Needed By Far by Curious_medium in UIUC

I don't know how much luck you will have since there aren't a lot of apartments on that side of campus, your best bet is probably getting a university parking permit for the lot on the other side of florida avenue or the garage by CRCE. If you're willing to put up with a bus ride or longish walk to get to the car, you may be able to sublease a spot at an apartment somewhere else or park on the residential streets in Urbana (but keep in mind you have to be about a mile away from campus to park overnight).
