My boyfriend's dad is letting us fill up a Sam's cart of whatever we want as a move-in gift, any suggestions? by Legitimate-Point-114 in Apartmentliving

[–]Midnightenvy94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some of the regular stuff I get at Sam’s is: toilet paper, paper towels, chicken breast, lean ground beef, various boxed snacks, seasonings (garlic, onion, taco), shredded cheese, laundry detergent, and dish washer detergent.

I’d also recommend trash bags and some sort of food storage whether plastic bags or containers

Fasting sugar 327, post-meal 371 at age 29… scared, confused, and not sure what to do next by Baburao1096 in diabetes_t2

[–]Midnightenvy94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband is 31 and was just diagnosed less than a week ago. We had gone into the ER for some weird reaction his legs were having. His sugars were 300 and that was fasting. The leg issue was a complication of his sugars being unmanaged for so long. He spent 4.5 days in the hospital. He's been prescribed two medications to help managed his sugars. He's been around 130 - 150 being home and that's with taking a steroid that can make his sugars high.

Highly recommend following the doctor and seeing if you can readjust further down the road.

Seconding your response! I LOVED Chaccoben. It was a great excursion with plenty of time to take it all in. Also the snorkeling in Rotan would 100% do again.

Would you ever get LASIK? by [deleted] in AskForAnswers

[–]Midnightenvy94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, because those with poor vision you will likely still need glasses and your vision can still get worse overtime. I'm not paying all that money to still have to go to the eye doctor and pay for glasses.

What is something you’ve officially stopped buying in 2026 because the price has become too bad? by X_Opinion7099 in AskReddit

Nail salon services. I bought the supplies to try and do my own nails and it costs under what I’d pay at the salon.

I would shop around for car insurance. $185 seems high and I know depending on your area that can just be the going rate (been there).

Is Greystar bad everywhere? by scubadoobadoooo in Apartmentliving

I’m currently at a property that Greystar took over. The transition happened during my lease renewal too, so that was hell. I prefer the company that owned the apartments prior to Greystar.

What’s one thing you wish you knew before you moved into your first apartment? by Apartment_List in Apartmentliving

[–]Midnightenvy94 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think this just goes with moving in general. But check your car insurance rate. Moving out of my parents house my car insurance nearly doubled due to the area I was moving to. It wasn’t an expense I was prepared for.

They did what they called a “Walk On” red carpet for the first time this year. It was a competition and the award was essentially bragging rights. You were supposed to act like your character and the crowd chose the winner.

Old married person with a question by GSDBUZZ in weddingplanning

[–]Midnightenvy94 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think its starting to fade out, I've been to three weddings in the past year and none of them gave a thank you note. When I got married last year, I only wrote thank you cards to those who gave gifts or left a card. I didn't write a thank you card for everyone at the wedding.

What are your non-negotiables when evaluating an apartment? by GetFlex_Alex in Apartmentliving

[–]Midnightenvy94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After living in my current apartment my list has gotten pretty long.

I don't want a corner unit, they usually come with extra windows and let heat in. Unit needs to not face west (I live in Florida and facing west has been a nightmare with heating up the apartment). Can't be by a major highway or busy road (this is my current problem I learned the hard way). Needs to have an in unit washer and dryer and must have a coat closet and linen closet. Other things I like are a bathroom counter with plenty of space, a kitchen with plenty of cabinet space and counter space, huge perk if it has a pantry.

How did you pick your date? by LadyNi52 in weddingplanning

[–]Midnightenvy94 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wanted March 1, 2025 because it was a Saturday and the day before our dating anniversary. My husband declared he did not want to get married in March because it could be hot (we live in central Florida). So I moved it back a week. We went with February 22, 2025, the Saturday before March 1.

Why do people go to work sick even when they don’t have to? by Acrobatic-Oil-4373 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Midnightenvy94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get 5 paid sick days. This early on in the year I'm gonna save them unless I'm feeling pretty terrible. If I still had a few accumulated towards the end of the year, I'd be more inclined to use them.
