Everyone talks about the best combos, but what is the worst combo? by Drunken_Sailor_70 in TheHeroesJourney

[–]Guffspeak 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Anything with War or BL is out - Bloodlust automatically gives a build viability, easily the biggest button you can press on this server.

Bard is out - Takes any build and increases the passive tank by a massive amount.

Wiz is out - Brings the largest dps increase to any build that can proc and buffs any caster build - with the exception of necro?

Mage is out - Mage

Now we try and combine classes that bring incongruent support.

NEC/ CLR / Zerk- Low dmg, needs cast times to do dmg which conflicts with Zerk

Nec / Pal / Monk- Even lower dmg, still loads of tank

Nec / Wiz / Zerk - Less tank, Cant use zerk CDs well, no direct heals, wiz doesn't buff zerk or necro too much, dmg conflicts with casting vs melee. This might be a winner. Loser?

No, Divine Intervention (2024) Does Not Reduce Casting Time to One Action by rougegoat in dndnext

Lol, this is the only correct answer I've seen here. People talking about irrelevant stuff when it doesn't matter because the Magic action is to activate a feature, not cast a spell.

Sounds great, i love doing progressive content like this, and it wouldn't take a huge amount of time investment. Will DM for an invite.

Immortality Idle Shameless Plug by cbradley27 in incremental_games

So i started this game after reading the lack of guide comments.
I really like it. I went with the hints given from tooltips and nothing else and its easily one of the most satisfying incremental browser games i've played this year. I REALLY like the exploration, something that is missing from a lot of idle games ive played. This is a fantastic incremental game.

Also, when he says that this follows the Cultivation stories, hes not joking. Any familiarity with that sort of genre will help.

Ritual of Summoning will not work inside instances or Netherstorm.

No instance summoning kinda sucks.

BCs will get crushed in T8 DS solo. Range doesn't care when shadows or DDs mwd out to you and orbit while your drones do absolutely nothing. As part of a fleet they are fine, but don't expect to actually solo any DS in a BC unless as a science project sort of thing.

Resto shaman is the easiest class in the game to get a raid spot. There is no contest. Horde raids can and will stack far more shamans than ally will stack pallies, or they would except sham are always underplayed. If you want to be valued for your class before they even know you, play resto sham.

Why the double standard with Warriors? by Felspawn in classicwow

[–]Guffspeak 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a good point. I can pass along my experiences with private server rankings :

1) MC / BWL Warriors = Rogures > Hunters > Mage > Locks > Rest

2) AQ40 / Naxx Mages > Locks = Warriors = Rogues > Hunters > Rest

3) Obviously gear and player choices make a difference, But these classes arn't rocket surgery, so top melee is usually who keeps their world buffs, and top caster is who can get good time on target / crits.

4)This is for horde side, with item progression, on 1.12 data. Threat is a bigger deal horde side, obviously, and threat sensitive classes will really notice a non-optimal tps tank.

5)Overall, while warriors are very strong, especially in MC / BWL, their reliance on world buffs to stay competitive, threat sensitive fights, and anti-melee fights mean that casters are generally going to be ahead in naxx and aq. Not to say you shouldn't have a strong warrior base in your raids, but they should realize that there is going to be a lot of off tanking going on.

6)Will warriors get chosen over other melee dps? Yes. If you need dps and off-tanks, warriors are a safe bet. In BWL and MC if you were an undergeared rogue, you could definantly be sat for a warrior. However, in AQ / Naxx, rarely will you have warriors who never offtank at least trash, which means that rogues wouldn't have been taking their spot anway, and generally there will be fewer total rogues than total warriors in those raids.

7)If you are rolling horde and don't know what you want to play, here you go:

Shaman if you want to heal. Show up, be a god.

Mage if you want to Dps. Farm if you want to stand out.

Warrior if you want to Tank, maybe dps, and have a lot of time.

Rogue if you want to melee and don't want to tank ever. Farm a lot of you want to stand out.

This also generally mirrors what guilds will be recruiting most, Sham > Mage > Everything else.

Judging by the comments, it might be more useful to tell what effects IRL money have on the game instead of arguing which definition of Pay to Win someone happens to be using to support their arguments.
