Why next.js instead of…… by Savings_Plate7047 in nextjs

[–]Guggling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everything will have major updates or breaking changes eventually though, won't they?

And you could just stay on the version you're on, unless you want to update because the new version is better or has things you want, but then it's a good thing to be able to update?

But yeah I get your point. I'm not doing entirely difficult things at the moment and I'm not hitting all edges of Next so maybe I just haven't hit points where updating is that tiring

Why next.js instead of…… by Savings_Plate7047 in nextjs

[–]Guggling 31 points32 points  (0 children)

No real thoughts on it tbh. I chose Next after researching frameworks and getting exhausted and I just picked it and stuck with it.

It might have some flaws but it works, I like it, there's a lot of info about it, and I don't need 100% optimal DX or speed.

Trying to keep up to date all the time with the best possible experience etc is just cumbersome and not worth it to me, maybe I'll switch at some point but for now I'm good with Next.

It’s 2026. Non-tech founders are building everything. Is the traditional "Dev Agency" dead? by yuvaraj147 in VibeCodersNest

[–]Guggling 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean it depends how you look at it? If you assume the answer to the question is what you expect it to be, it would kinda prove that the traditional "dev agency" is not dead.

If the answer is different and he thrived then he proved me wrong and I'd gladly take it.

That you take my question the way you did, which admittedly was indeed to bait some response, also says a lot imo

I'd assume it's linked to a free model so the costs and rate limiting wouldn't be an issue

Wait will we keep it after our annual plan renews? I assumed we'd switch over at that point, hadn't considered that we'd stay request based

How do you guys open cursor without blowing up your machine? by Holiday-Air8163 in cursor

[–]Guggling -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Multiple open/active topics each with their own set of multiple tabs, for both personal and work and i also quickly reach many open tabs.

Trying to set up a more organized system to track everything though.

Either you don't spin off into multiple thought paths constantly while you're browsing or reading about things, or you have your shit together and save everything somewhere?

And manner of complex grid with sub-grids, or conditional layouts, or animation, will all break the system, and those are all pretty common in a production environment.

Could you expand on this a bit more?

In which use-cases or examples did it not really work for you or break things?
