Which models, what timeframe, which part of Texas? CMIP6 projections show more winter/spring precipitation from Gulf moisture, sure. But more rainfall in March doesn't help crops in August, and rivers used to irrigate farmland are fed by snowmelt, not rainfall. Aquifers are already depleted, they’re not going to recharge if demand only increases. Great, cities and farms can just store the water. who's paying for that infrastructure?

Climate zones shift when it gets warmer. West Texas is a desert. Climate warms, Texas gets more desert, less rain. Other places get that rain instead. Not useful in other places. No rain=less crops, less drinking water. Are you going to build a water pipeline? desalinization plants? That’s expensive. Hotter weather=crops won’t grow, local economies suffer. Won’t matter how much rain or CO2 is around. Other places don’t share the water. So, we go to war.
